Ladyfingers

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2006
These cookies were awesome! I found them very easy to make. And I love the fact that they require so few ingredients and such a short baking time. They are very light and airy! I didn't have a problem with them spreading too much, like others did. Although I can say, that they are kind of a thinner cookie, which worked well for my Tiramisu. I'm still not sure about the Tiramisu, but the cookies rocked! I got 38 cookies from this recipe, it may vary for others, as I "piped" them through a plastic bag, and I wasn't very good at getting them all the same size. I did cook them for 7 minutes, instead of 8. I found that the bottoms were nice and brown and the tops were very light. My husband ate like 12 of them with a tall glass of milk before I made my tiramisu! I will definitely use this recipe again and again!

Oatmeal Cake III

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2006
I halved the recipe and followed the directions exactly, and I must say this is absolutely delicious! So moist! It is very sweet, and exactly the kind of cake I was looking for. I'm a chocoholic, and my husband needs a break from all the chocolate once in a while, so this will be a part of my permanent rotation.

Chocolate Mint Sugar Cookie Drops

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
These are soo delicious! They smell great when they are baking, the whole house had a chocolaty minty smell. I had never made cookies with oil before and was a bit skeptical, especially because the batter seemed kind of liquid when it was all together. I chilled it for a little while and then baked for 10 minutes. I agree with the previous reviewer who felt these were very light. Mine were perfectly done and they were very light. I did not dust them with sugar before baking, it's the only thing I changed about the recipe. I absolutely loved these and they will be added to my recipe box permanently. Thanks for an awesome recipe, Clare!

Juicy Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2006
These were absolutely delicious... I only marinated for about 45 minutes, but my chops were very thin. Also, I used my Foreman grill, since I was using my oven for something else, and they were done quickly and oh, so tasty!!! Tender and juicy!!! The taste was not at all overpowering after 45 minutes, although they were very well seasoned... These will now be in permanent rotation on my weekly menus!

Baked Paprika-Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2006
This was absolutely delicious, a real hit with my hubby. I did follow some other reviewers advice and added a bit of garlic powder to the flour mixture. I agree that the flour mixture may be too little, so if your chicken breasts are large, I would suggest you double the mixture. I made three HUGE chicken breasts and they were done in about 55 minutes, so I do think the time will vary. These were juicy, very tasty, very easy and they looked amazing! The crust browns nicely in the oven. Thanks, Renae, for a wonderful recipe!

Round Steak and Gravy II

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2006
This recipe is awesome, soo easy and so delicious! I did make a few changes. I cut the beef into very small pieces, seasoned with pepper, onion and garlic powder. I then seared it in a pan with some diced garlic and a bit of olive oil, I also added a small can of sliced mushrooms. Then I baked for 1 hour and 20 minutes. I thickened the gravy with a bit of cornstarch and served with cheese mashed potatoes and corn. It was super easy on prep time and it was delicious. My husband and I had a friend helping us paint and he said we should open a restaurant!!! So, it was definitely a hit with him!!! Thanks, Nancy for a great recipe!

Albino Pasta

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2006
Ok, so I started off trying to make this recipe exactly... I decided to substitute margarine for the olive oil (just kind of taste preference) added a bit more minced garlic. Then I realized that I didn't have enough parmessan cheese. So I decided to add a bit of mozzarella and cream cheeses. (I took the albino thing a bit too far!) The sauce wasn't pretty to look at, I melted the cheeses into the margarine and garlic. But the taste was superb! I will definitely keep this recipe and try to make it with only parmessan (or some other interesting cheese mix!) next time.

Chocolate Cobbler

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2006
This was the first recipe I made off this website! I never realized I hadn't rated it! Anyways, it looks VERY weird when you're going to put it in the oven, muddy even, be warned! But it is VERY delicious, kind of makes its own pudding or frosting if you will. The most important thing to this recipe is using some VERY good quality chocolate, because it will really determine the outcome of this recipe. It is a chocolate lover's dream!

Bahama-Mama Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2006
First of all, I really loved this dish. But, I did make several adjustments. I added a large can of pineapple chunks with the juice. Added a bit of extra cornstarch because of the extra liquid (I'm glad I did). Added the same amount of chili sauce the recipe calls for. After mixing the sauce ingredients, tasted and found it to be a bit too "ketchupy" for my liking, so added about 3 tablespoons of mild salsa. Also added some green onions to the sauce. I used 5 VERY THIN pork chops and browned them without oil, just used a bit of water to deglaze the pan. Also added some green and yellow bell peppers while the chops were browning. After adding the sauce, simmered for about 20-25 mins. I wish I had taken a picture, because this is a very pretty dish! My husband ate it all!!! I will definitely experiment a bit more with this recipe and recommend it to anyone!

Scrambled Eggs Done Right

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2006
I got a little scared when I saw the eggs on the skillet... I used light mayonnaise and it seemed to separate from the eggs. But, I just kept stirring and let it cook and it immediately kind of melted into the eggs. The taste is superb! I did make them like I usually do, though. Added onion, green bell peppers, tomato, ham and cheese. I know it sounds more like an omelette, but that's how we like them! The change in texture and taste was really outstanding and you could not taste the mayo at all! (which is great, because my husband doesn't really care for mayo). This is my new scrambled eggs recipe!

Daddy's Sausage and Peppers

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2006
We loved this dish! I halved the recipe, added extra mozzarella and a little bit of chicken stock (it was all I had!) to make it "saucier". Served it with Spaghetti and it was a hit! The only comment my husband made was that it had great flavor but it was a bit too "vegetarian" for his taste. He's really not used to all the vegies!!! But I loved that. Next time, I'll add a few more sausages for him and serve most of the vegetables for myself!

Easy Minute Steaks

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2006
I absolutely loved this recipe. I seasoned the steaks with some garlic powder and pepper before browning... Then I added one can of french onion and one can of cream of mushroom soup. There was plenty of "gravy" left after cooking and it tastes delicious! I served it with mashed potatoes and corn.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2006
This recipe is awesome! I followed many reviewer's sugestions, and added only three eggs. I also dusted the pudding with some brown sugar and chopped walnuts before baking. It is soooo easy to make and so delicious, it is definitely one recipe I intend to keep.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2006
We absolutely loved it. I halved the recipe and the only thing I changed was to add two small cloves of garlic and a little less garlic powder. I love garlic, so next time, I may add a bit more. I served it with some grilled chicken breast chunks. It was super fast, easy and very tasty. It's a keeper!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
I used margarine instead of the shortening, and my Crust turned out perfect! Just be warned, do not over knead it or let it become too soft because it will harden too much while baking. It was super easy and very good. I used it for the Chocolate Pecan Pie III from this site.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
The only reason I give this recipe a 4 is that my husband has yet to believe it is supposed to be Teriyaki sauce! We really like the taste, but he always says it tastes more like a barbeque sauce to him. So, if you're looking for a very tasty recipe, try it, just be warned that you may not find this to be a real "Teriyaki" recipe.

Salsafied Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
My FAVORITE! I have made this recipe about 5 or 6 times already and love it! It is super simple and delicious. I never have instant rice on hand, so I just use regular rice. I also add a dab or two of sour cream before serving and I add less cheese than the recipe calls for. Other than that, it is perfect!!!

Sweet and Sour Sauce I

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
This sauce was awesome. Very, very easy and very delicious. I did substitute the water for pineapple juice like recommended by some reviews... I poured it over chicken and it was a hit! /Update: Made this with water as stated and it was just as yummy! I also added a few drops of red food coloring. Delicious!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
If I could, I would give these 10 stars! Everyone loved them. I made a whole batch and they were gone within 24 hours! I added only half the salt as others mentioned, other than that I followed the recipe exactly (except I may have "accidentally" doubled the chocolate chips :o). These were perfect! Very, very yummy and not at all too "oaty" in my opinion.
