Cheese Crackers

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2013
Just tried this recipe last night and am really pleased with the results. I substituted cayenne pepper (1/4 teaspoon) for the red pepper flakes and added chopped fresh rosemary for a little extra taste. They turned out to be very tasty. I can't wait to try it with different cheeses (Swiss or Gruyere) and maybe other herbs. Very versatile! I've been disappointed with the results of similar recipes but this one is a real keeper! Thanks for the recipe, Domestic Chef.

Delicious Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2006
I just took my two loaves out of the oven and can honestly say that this is a fabulous recipe. I used my bread machine set on the dough setting but didn't change anything else about the recipe. I will definitely make this again and again.

I made half the full recipe and, boy, is this yummy! Definitely not low-fat, though. A real special treat.

Spanish Squash

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2006
Yum! This is so delicious. I used minced garlic mixed in with the squash and onions, but didn't change anything else. It smelled delicious while cooking. I served it over plain white rice and I think that was a good addition. Thanks for recipe.

Apricot Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2006
Easy to make and tastes great. Like other reviewers, I used Catalina dressing instead of Russian because that's what I had on hand. I also seasoned with salt and pepper and browned pork chops before baking. They turned out very tender, moist, and tasty. Loved it.

Mississippi Tea Cakes

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2006
Oh my goodness, these cookeis are so good! I made myself refrain from eating the dough but I can't stop eating the cookies. I used powdered buttermilk but I couldn't tell that it made any difference. I had a wave of nostalgia because these taste so much like the rolled sugar cookies that I used to make for my daughter when she was younger. Brought back many happy memories. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Beef Stew with Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2006
This stew was very good, even though I didn't add the dumplings. I used green peas instead of celery, green pepper, and mushrooms. I left it to simmer overnight in my slow cooker and it made the whole house smell good. The result is very good.

Cheesiest Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2006
I halved the recipe and made it for my daughter and son-in-law -- it got rave reviews! I didn't have tarragon so I omitted that and added fat-free half-and-half to make it a cream of tomato soup. The cheese melted easily and gave a nice flavor to the soup. I will definitely make this again.

Five Ingredient Ice Cream

Reviewed: May 6, 2006
I can't believe how absolutely delicious this ice cream is!! I did substitute 1/2 and 1/2 for the heavy cream and the milk (I guess that makes it a 4 ingredient ice cream) like another reviewer suggested but it was still fabulous. I also used my small ice cream maker. I will make this again and again. I'm so happy to have this recipe. Thanks!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2014
Absolutely the best scone recipe I've ever made (or eaten). I love trying different add-ins each time. So far lemon/poppyseed is my favorite, but I also love them with dried cherries, blueberries, raisins, apricots (cut into small pieces), and fruit mixtures that I find at Trader Joe's. I find that I have better luck with dried fruit compared to fresh. I enjoy making them with my little granddaughter because she loves to help me cut them out. All my friends and neighbors are thrilled when I bring over a batch -- along with clotted cream, of course!!! I highly recommend trying this recipe. It really is the best ever!

#1 Pea Salad Most Requested!

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2013
I made a half recipe today and wish I had made the whole recipe. Took it to a friend's house as an extra side dish for lunch ad everyone, including me, really loved it! The smoked almonds really do give it a bacon-y taste. I will definitely be making this again! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
LOVE this applesauce! I've tripled the recipe and I've made it with sugar blends, once with white sugar blend and once with brown sugar blend, and it is outstanding either way. I have to pace myself or I could easily eat it all. Thanks, Sarah, for this great recipe.

Crab Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2011
This quiche is delicious! I substituted FF evaporated milk and used real crabmeat. I also used Gruyere cheese and served it at a neighborhood brunch. It was a big hit and well worth the effort. Ladies asked to take home the leftovers so I know they really liked it.

Microwave Pralines

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2006
Had to try this recipe because we all love pralines so much. I was amazed at how easy these are to make; I've made them the "hard way" using a candy thermometer in the past. These were so easy and so delicious I've made four batches in the last few days and given them to my friends for Christmas gifts. Everyone loves them! They're as good or better than any I've ever tasted. Thanks for such a great (and easy) recipe.

Irish Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2006
Oh, my, was this delicious! I made it in my slow cooker and it worked just great. I used one can of cream of chicken soup and one can of cream of celery soup (didn't have fresh celery on hand). I omitted the 3 cups of water and added one can of reduced fat/salt chicken broth instead. I also used one can of sliced carrots instead of fresh. I omitted the potatoes. This will be a family favorite from now on. Thanks, Claire.

Easy and Delicious Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2006
I really wanted to like this casserole since I love cooking in my slow cooker, but I just didn't like the combination of flavors. I did, however, really appreciate learning how to cook chicken in the Italian dressing. It was so easy to shred.
