About this Cook
I am a working mother of 2 beautiful children. Meals during the week are usually a quick affair, but on the weekends slow food is the way to go.
My favorite things to cook
Anything. I love to cook, I love to eat. I enjoy the relaxation that cooking can bring, and spending time with my children making things in the kitchen.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas Lunch. Roast turkey, roast pork, roast veggies of every kind and home made plum pudding. Although Christmas in mid summer can be hot, we cannot go without a traditional dinner.
My cooking triumphs
Christmas Dinner. My husband and i work as a team and get a fantastic meal together with our table groaning under the weight of all the food.
My cooking tragedies
My most recent tragedy was satay chicken. I accidentally put too much vinegar in the sauce. Could have used it as paint stripper. Suffice to say no one ate that meal and the local Chinese restaurant had a rush order for dinner.

Bananas in Caramel Sauce
MMMMMM MMMMMM. Started out to use this recipe just for the Caramel sauce, then thought I would chuck in a couple of bananas anyway. Everyone gobbled up their desert. Sauce on its own would keep (if your lucky) in the fridge, but not after you have warmed fruit in it.

Raspberry Summer Pudding (English Style)
This is great. I used a mixture of fresh raspberries, blackberries, red currants, blueberries and strawberries. The sugar content may seem large, however it is used to give the fruit a jam like consistancy and helps the desert set up. If you are not wanting to use as much sugar, substitute some of the sugar with gelatine or vegetarian equivalent (follow the packet directions), remembering that you will need to add some water as the sugar does provide some liquid once disolved.

Fettuccini Carbonara
This is a traditional style Carbonara. Tastes delicious. My family prefers more sauce, so next time I will add more cream to give the consistancy preferred.
