I have been cooking food since I could barely walk. It is totally a family affair, which I love. I have aquired a lot of knowledge about fine dining and cusine, and know a lot about wine from being a fine dining waitress. I am pursuing a double major in Anthropology and Religious Studies with a minor in Christian Studies, and I love studying food traditions of different cultures. I absolutely love food and I enjoy the traditions that tag along with the process!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook all kinds of food, but love mostly anything with tons of flavor and lots of punch. I guess I not really a fan of bland foods, but I do love cooking things that are simple in flavor also. I grew up celebrating many different cultures so I'll cook anything from American, Japanese, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and various styles of European foods.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Gosh so many.... tuna and egg salad sandwiches and rice pudding because it was something I did with my grandma and dad. I love any kind of Japanese food, Sunday morning breakfasts, cookies and pastries around the holidays, corned beef, omelets, pastas, rices, tacos.... I mean you name it I've ate it......almost :)
My cooking tragedies
I once grated part of my finger into a pound cake that I had made for some class that I had in middle school. It was for some how to do something or other that we had to show the steps of something and I chose cooking ... really funny actually... not to mention we had to take pictures and I was in my pj's and a hair towel wrap.. what was I thinking????
