Sea Foam Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
I liked this, however I used it for a different purpose than to frost a cake. I used it to top the strawberries in a strawberry shortcake. I thought it worked out very well on this type of dessert. Thnx

Roasted Red Pepper and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2006
I really enjoyed this recipe and I am not a big potato soup fan. I made it with grilled ham and cheeses and my family loved it. My picky four year old even told me that I made a really great dinner tonight. ya! score! I used 2% milk instead of the half and half, celery flakes instead of the celery, I also omitted the butter and used olive oil to saute the veggies. Delish! Thank you for a great recipe.

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2006
I made the white cake and to me it had a cornmeal kind of taste to it. I think I'll keep looking for a more tasty recipe.

Poke Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2006
I really love poke cakes. I used strawberry and lime jello because that;s what I had on hand. Next time I'm going to steer away from lime jello though, it was a little tangy for my tastes.

The topping was really good, however, we just didn't think rhubarb is a good as other pies.

Caesar Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2006
I whipped this up for a quick lunch one day after church. It was a fast and delish lunch the dressing and croutons were great. I do think that next time I will leave out the anchovies because the next day the left over dressing was really fishy.

Valentino's Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2006
I have never made pizza crust before so I don't really have much other than take out crust to compare it to, however I am giving this recipe 5 stars because this was by far the quickest and easiest one I could find in a pinch. If you are looking for convenience this is the one for you! It did have a nice crust on the outside and was moist inside. Thanks for a great recipe.

Corn Dog Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2006
If you don't like corn dogs then definitely don't try this recipe because it tasted just like one!!!!:)I omitted the celery and used one very small onion instead of the green onion because I didn't have any. I also added a couple shakes of garlic salt(because I don't cook without it),a dash of cayenne, a dash of cumin, and a couple dashes of chilli powder. I will make this the exact same way next time because it turned out so well. My two girls and the hubby couldn't eat it fast enough. Thanks so much for a fantastic family recipe!

Slow Cooker Adobo Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2006
This was excellent and so easy! I couldn't stop eating it. I used cornstarch to thicken up the broth left in the crock pot and ate it over rice. YUMMY:) and next time I think I'll see how this recipe does on just chicken breasts. Thanks. Mmmm

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
This icing served its purpose well but I did have to add 2 tbs. of milk to the final product like other reviewers because it was waaay to thick. My 4 yr. old and I used it to "paint" Fourth of July cookies (White Velvet Cutouts from this site) and the colors came out beautiful and shiny. Thanxs for a fun recipe!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
okay....here it goes.... the five is from my husband however I guess I must be the needle in the haystack since everyone else gave them such a great rating as well because I thought they were lacking something. While they had a really great soft texture they just didn't quite have it flavor wise to me compared to some chocolate chip cookies I've had. It does definately needs salt in the recipe. They were pretty good though. Thanxs

These were really good compared to other cut-out recipes. The cream cheese gave them a really great rich flavor.

Cottage Cheese Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2006
This was a good recipe. My husband gave it a 5 and my picky 4 year old ate more than she usually does, but I felt it was lacking something maybe more of the cheese mixture? I don't know but I'll try some differen't things. Will make this again. Thanks

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2006
I would just like start by saying to the two previous reviewers that ya'll are cracking me up. I am taking a history class right now and after a day of studying the revolutionary war and the events following it you guys ended it with a great laugh:) Well back to the pie. I followed it exactly except I added some garlic salt to the meat while it was cooking and we just didn't like it. Sorry but it was really bland and just not qiute to our liking but would probabley be a great dish for a meat and potato person.Sorry

Stuffed Jalapenos III

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2006
This made a nice snack for our 4th of July party. They were met with some mixed reviews however my husband said they deserve 10 stars. My grocery store was out of pineapple cream cheese so I mixed my own. I think that the premixed kind is sweeter and that might have complimented them a little better. The bacon kind of overpowered the other tastes for me so next time I'll try to find a way for more of the other flavors to come through and for those of you who are afraid that these would be hot they really were very mild. Thanx for a great recipe. Note: We remade these today and they were much better with the few adjustments we made: first I added more pineapple until it was almost runny but not to were it ran out of the peppers and then we only cooked them until the bacon looked done which took about 20-25 minutes in my oven. To me it made a huge difference for the better even though my husband loved them to begin with, he also thought they tasted better the second time around.
