Blueberry Gingerbread

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2013
It's passable; the bread was on the dry side and too sweet for me; I added toasted nuts and replaced the white sugar with 3/4 cup of light brown sugar. And the sugar on top was not necessary! The blueberries were not noticeable and I would not make this recipe again.

Tabbouleh I

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
Delightful and tasty! I liked the fact the cooking water is less for the bulgar, which makes it fluffier. I doubled the parsley, mint; added garlic and serrano; used less oil. Thanks, Jen!

Chocolate Almond Sheet Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2012
I really like the texture and the subtle hint of almond which marries so well with chocolate; however, the depth of chocolate flavor is lacking. Maybe the method of melting dark chocolate would enhance the deep chocolate flavor. I added tsp. of espresso; added toffee glaze with home made toffee candy...very good!

Unique creamy sauce if you like pumpkin; so easy. Although you can't detect the cinnamon, it's definitely a must. I added extra chipotle. I liked it! Thanks Kristincsw!

Incredible Bread that may be enjoyed as is, or as a delicious sandwich, filled with your favorite savory meats. Slightly crunchy crust, structured, yet fluffy textured crumb with subtle sweetness that's addicting. I added diced candied citrus peels to the dough and sliced almonds on top prior to baking on the stone. Fantastic presntation for a festive celebration... Thanks Ani!

Chef John's Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2012
Delightful artisan bread! It's texture is spot on; chewy crust, substantial bite of the crumb and the consistancy of the dough was beautiful. I only let the dough to rise for one hour, and then continued with the recipe. It's great plain or toasted with cream cheese. Thanks Chef John!

Orange Pull Aparts

Lovely bread using a flip-book method. Replaced it with lemon and poppyseed, which I loved. Only wished I'd had used brown sugar instead of white.

Orange Pineapple Marmalade

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2012
Succulent and addicting, using less sugar and more fruits. I used 20 oz pineapple chunks and its juice, 4 oranges, 3 meyer lemon juice and zest, 2 cups of white sugar and 1 cup of brown, 1/2 cup of water. I pulsed half of the fruits and peels and chopped rest into julienned pieces. I used a melon baller to scrape out the pith. Simmered until 220 degrees F. Combined extra fresh orange zest and lemon zest before pouring it into jars. Texture was perfect and it is delightful having something home made. Thanks Stephanie!

Panettone Loaves

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2012
Superb Panettone! It's light, flakey, buttery and it melts in your mouth. I soaked the rasins/cranberries in warm Amaretto/peach schnapp for few hours. Working with the wet dough, creates a lovely crumb and only used extra flour when handling the (thick batter)dough. I've made Panettone I, which is great and lower in fat; however, this recipe produces another dimension of flavors and texture due to the addition of butter. I used evaporated milk, 1 tsp of salt; produced 2 large Panettone loaves in bundt pans. Thanks for sharing Stephanie!
