About this Cook
I learned to cook from my mom, who is Hungarian and Italian. She loves to cook, and loves feeding everyone.
My favorite things to cook
I love making casseroles, and I always make everything from scratch, unless It's a hectic week, then I cheat. Better a home-baked meal from a mix than fast food!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I always remember my Mom simmering her pasta sauce for hours on the stove. The neighborhood kids would come over because they could smell it up the street haha. And at Christmas we'd spend hours making (and mostly eating) sugar cookie dough and decorating the freshly baked cookies. Food, for me, has always centered around family and community and sharing things you love with the people you care about. No matter how little we had we always share our food with anyone who needs or wants a good homecooked meal.
My cooking triumphs
I finally made an awesome home- made cheesecake from scratch. Took me almost 24 hours to keep it from cracking but it came out awesome. Now to try to repeat it!
My cooking tragedies
I once added maple extract to sugar cookies. Yuck! My sibling still talk about it.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies III
These cookies are wonderful! I found this because I was out of eggs and my husband wanted cookies. I also took some to work, and they can't wait for me to make more! I will double the recipe next time, and I added chocolate chunks instead of chips. Thanks for the great recipe!

Quick Pour Chocolate Fondant
This fondant was not what I was expecting. Maybe I didn't get it to the right temp, but it was thick, and didn't pour. It also ended up crystalizing very quickly, and I had to throw the batch away! Maybe I need a new candy thermometer?
