Simple BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
These ribs were excellent. I took the suggestion of another reviewer and put soysauce in the water. I boiled them in soysauce, water, garlic powder and pepper. Tasted the water to be sure it was flavored strongly enough with the soy sauce and then I didn't need to add any salt. I then baked them for an hour flipping them half way through to put BBQ sauce on the other side. I also made some chicken thighs along with it. The ribs fell off the bone. Great taste

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2006
I made this recipe last night and it was very simple. I only had orville's smart pop microwave so I made three bags, there was more than enough to coat the popcorn. I did think it was a little sweet so I'll probably cut the sugar back a bit next time but everyone else loved it. I think it's even better the next day...very addicting though

Caramel Shortbread Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
These taste like eating a twix bar. They're time consuming to make but worth the effort. I didn't have any milk chocolate chips so I melted some dark chocolate kisses and love the way it tastes with the dark chocolate.

Herb Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
Outstanding roast. Made it last night for a dinner party and everyone absolutely loved it. They said it was like a pork prime rib. It was so juicy I couldn't believe it. I wish I had taken a picture before I cut it, the roast itself looked mouthwatering. I did make a couple changes, I didn't have any sage so I just used poultry seasoning since it has thyme and sage in it. I also used brown sugar instead of white sugar for the glaze. Took it out 15 minutes before cutting into it and let it rest, OMG we'll be making this again and again. You won't be sorry.

BLT Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
Forgot to add that I used the bacon ranch dressing too, I think it adds more flavor.

Japanese Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2006
Awesome wings, my picky 17 year old daughter went back for seconds. Substituted the white sugar for Karo brown-sugar syrup and used apple cider vinegar instead of white vinegar. We'll definitely make these again. Cut salt in 1/2 and fried in 1/2 butter 1/2 veggie oil

Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2009
This toffee was very easy. I used a heavy bottom saucepan and cooked the butter-sugar mixture to 300 degrees which is hard-crack stage. I used 60% cacao chips and instead of nuts which I don't like I put toasted coconut on the top. While cooking the toffee mixture I did NOT stir constantly, only occasionally and it turned out fine. Will make this again, was a hit at the poker game.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2007
I made these for a candle party this week, all women and there was not one left! So easy to make but they raved about them and everyone asked how I made them. I didn't bother to use the toothpicks when making them, just put the end of the bacon side down and the bacon stayed wrapped even when I took them out of the pan and put them on teh plaste. I'll be making these alot in the future. Very Very tasty!

B and L's Strawberry Smoothie

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2007
Made this for my mom who could not have anything thinner than nectar after a valve replacement. She loved it. I used strawberry yogurt and frozen strawberries we had picked during the summer. Had some myself and it was very good.
