Fresh Asparagus Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2011
It was all right. I only added about 1/2 cup of milk because I felt it'd dilute the asparagus taste too much. Either way, it wasn't utterly fantastic but I didn't think it was bad. It was missing a more complex flavor to it--it was a bit bland/one-dimensional. Probably won't make it again since I wasn't too impressed.

Coconut Curry Tofu

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2011
Delicious! I had some friends over for dinner and decided to try my luck with this recipe. Tasted quite lovely despite being vegetarian! I fried the tofu as another reviewer suggested, and I think that made a huge difference in taste. Gave the tofu more texture and helped it hold its shape more. I didn't add as much soy sauce as the recipe called for--I just added to taste. Definitely making this again sometime when I feel like a good vegetarian meal! :)

Yakisoba Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
Recipe wasn't too bad. It reminded me of Korean japchae. Pretty tasty, and quick and easy to make. Didn't follow the directions exactly--just threw stuff in as I went, and it turned out well. Will make again when I need a quick meal. Note to chefs: make sure to rinse your soba noodles thoroughly because they are VERY starchy. Run them under cold water and wash them until the water runs clear. Otherwise, you may run into the problem of them getting too gooey when cooked. Also traditionally, yakisoba is not made with the buckwheat soba noodles so don't expect these to taste EXACTLY authentic. Look for chuka noodles (more similar to ramen) for more authenticity.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
I guess after reading the reviews, I was expecting something spectacular. The cakes weren't bad (they were edible) but I wasn't wowed at all. I may try them again, in case it was a fluke, but the crab cakes definitely were not very impressive this first time I made it.

Fast and Friendly Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
Great recipe! I needed to whip up something quick for dinner, and this was perfect! I had some older bread that I wanted to get rid of so I ended up making some bread crumbs with that--added in some dry herbs (for the Italian seasoning: rosemary, thyme, oregano. Didn't have marjoram or basil) and a little bit of Parmesan cheese. I also only used 1 tbsp of olive oil instead of two. Turned out perfectly! Very very delicious! Definitely will be making again. Thanks for the recipe! :)

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2007
Absolutely delicious! I had a sudden craving for applesauce, and this totally hit the spot. I've already made this recipe twice and it tastes wonderful every time. Just don't forget to add the cinnamon! I almost forgot the second time I made it and it didn't taste as good.

Best Toffee Ever - Super Easy

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2007
WOW. I was so surprised at how easy this was. I didn't even use a candy thermometer and it came out perfectly. I was a little scared when I saw how easy it was. I've never made candy before so I was pretty afraid I was gonna mess it up, especially since I don't have a candy thermometer. I just followed the recipe exactly, and followed some tips from some reviewers (like wait till the mixture turns a little darker than peanut butter) and it turned out PERFECTLY. And it tastes so good! I thought it tastes exactly like the candy that comes in thee See's Candy bars. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely make it again.

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2007
It was my first time making truffles, and I decided to take a chance with this recipe since so many people liked it. My end result was a pretty good one! The taste is pretty good, though the cream cheese makes it kinda cheesecakey flavored. I made plain (with just vanilla), mint, and peanut butter truffles and rolled some in a cocoa mix, red sugar, and peanuts. The rest I dipped with milk chocolate and white chocolate. This recipe is fairly easy, and I will probably do it again if my friends like the truffles.

Rich Chocolate Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2007
This recipe was all right. Wasn't WOW, but it wasn't too bad either. The brownie itself didn't taste too much like a brownie to me. It had more of a chocolate cake flavor. The frosting was absolutely delicious though.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2006
This fudge was extremely tasty, and it was so easy to make! I followed some reviewers' advice and used 2 cups of semi-sweet and 1 cup of milk chocolate. Well, actually, I used 1 1/2 of both since I didn't have enough semi-sweet. Either way, it turned out nice and smooth, just perfect! I love how it wasn't too sweet - I dislike overly sweet things... I got rave reviews from all my friends. Thank you for this wonderful recipe! I will definitely be making this again.

Coffee Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2006
Oooo, this recipe was delightful! I frosted some plain yellow cupcakes and all my friends LOVED it! My only suggestion is to put a little less sugar than suggested. I was a little skeptical about putting in 1 1/2 cups of sugar in, so I just put in 1 cup and that was just right. Any more sugar and my teeth would've fallen off. :) And like a lot of reviewers have mentioned, adding a little bit more coffee gives it a better flavor. I put in about 2 or so tablespoons. I will definitely make this again. Thanks for the awesome receipe!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 27, 2006
Absolutely delicious! I baked these for the track and field BBQ, and people loved them! When I made these, I used half of the batch to make chocolate chip. The other half I put in butterscotch chips. Both turned out heavenly. Next time though, I think I'll bake them a little less to keep softer or maybe add a little less butter.

Easy Guacamole

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2006
Absolutely delicious! This recipe for guacamole saved the day! I thought there was some of that guacamole mix stuff left, but there wasn't and the grocery store by my house didn't have it. I rushed here to find a guacamole recipe, and I found this one. Thank goodness! It tasted sooo good! I omitted tomatoes though because my mom's a bit picky with her guacamole. Thanks so much for this delicious recipe!

Blonde Brownies I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2006
These were delicious! This was my first time making brownies from scratch AND the first time I tasted blondie brownies! I'm glad I took the chance to try these out because everyone loved them! The only downside was that my mom said that she could taste the baking powder, so I'll probably put a little less next time. They were kinda hard when they cooled, but my mom thinks it has to do with the excess amount of the baking powder. Thank you for the great recipe! I will definitely make this again some time soon!

Christmas Wreaths

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2006
I made these for Christmas for my friends, and they were okay. It was really hard to make them into wreaths. My fingers got stuck together when I was trying to form the wreath. They tasted pretty good though. I used Frosted Flakes instead of just regular corn flakes, but they ended up tasting good all the same. I probably won't make these again though because I had such a difficult time shaping the wreaths. Thanks for the recipe though.

Super-Easy Rocky Road Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2006
These weren't as 'fudgy' tasting as I wanted them to be. They were okay, and a bunch of people like them, but I probably wouldn't make them again. They just tasted like chocolate candy that had too much sugar packed in there.

Classic American Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2006
This lasagna recipe is AWESOME! My mom, who isn't a big fan of lasagna, loved it as much as I did. However, I'm only giving it 4 stars because I changed a bunch of things, according to what I had in my kitchen. Instead of 2 cups of onion, I only used about 1/3 cup. 2 cups seemed a bit excessive, in my opinion... I used Prego spaghetti sauce instead of the can of crushed tomatoes. It was easier that way, since you don't have to add anything else to the sauce. If you're using spaghetti sauce, you'd have to use about 1 1/2 jars (26 oz. jar) of sauce because the amount of tomatoes (28 oz.) called for in the recipe wasn't enough. I used a 8 oz. bag of mozzarella, and a 8 oz. bag of Kraft's Classic 4 Cheese Melts, instead of just plain mozzarella. Dried parsley flakes worked well in place of fresh parsley. I kinda forgot to add red pepper flakes, but the lasagna still tasted wonderful. For my first time cooking lasagna, it turned out pretty well. Thank you very much for the wonderful recipe! ^_^
