Chess Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2013
This crust tastes wonderful, but I followed the recipe to the T and it NEVER set. :-( I even left it in the oven longer than I should have, the crust was beautifully brown and crispy (without cracking) but completely liquid inside.

Traditional White Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2013
I like the flavor of this recipe and I followed it precisely but just from reading it wondered about adding the salt with the yeast. Everything I've ever learned has told me doing that kills the yeast. As I thought it may do...my loaves didn't rise as I thought they should. Next time I will add the salt in with the flour when mixing that in and see how things go. Other than that, I liked the flavor and it wasn't too time consuming. Also...this recipe states to preheat the oven to 425...but doesn't state if you bake at that temp for any amount of time, it only says to bake at 375. So...are you supposed to simply have the oven at that temp when you begin baking and turn it down...or what? That step is very unclear.

Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2012
I followed this recipe exactly as written and mine turned out PERFECT! I used my bread machine and it worked out so well. I will definitely be making these again. Oh, I did double the icing recipe and used all of it...but that's personal preference, we like a lot of the icing.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly as written and mine turned out absolutely fabulous!! I know some people in their reviews have recommended adding vanilla, it's totally unnecessary. I plan on using this as a basic muffin recipe to alter...next up, orange cranberry!!! These were such a huge hit at my house.

Boxty

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2012
This is really great! There is a place here in town that makes stuffed Boxty's...and they are AWESOME! Think I will make my own variation of the stuffed version as well, so they can be a whole meal. They also have a breakfast boxty that is stuffed with rashers (Irish bacon), bangers (sausage) and Irish cheddar. Topped with a Hollandaise sauce...it's to die for!!!! I'm sure I can make this at home too.

Blueberry Muffins I

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2008
I really like this recipe. I have a family member who is diabetic so I substituted 1 cup of Splenda for the sugar (I added 1/2 cup to make it sweeter instead of the required 1/2 cup)...these turned out PERFECT!!! I also used large muffin tins (made 7 large muffins), but with substituting splenda the calorie count is still pretty low :-)
