Caramel Apple Pie II
About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Caramel apple pie with a home-made crust!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just having family around to share yummy food with.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking for large crowds such as my Bunco group and our Thanksgiving crowd at our work lunch and my boyfriend's family gatherings. I do not have much opportunity to cook for large crowds, so when I do and the food turns out good, I feel a sense of accomplishment! I also had a friend who shared some venison with me - I had never cooked deer meat before and was a little nervous. I invited several friends over to eat and they all loved it!
My cooking tragedies
I once used garlic flavored Pam when making brownies. I didn't know Pam even sold a garlic spray until then.

Bourbon Whipped Cream
This is pure heaven! I serve this with the New Orleans Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie by tracy918. A few people commented that it is a little strong on the bourbon. . . . but isn't that the point?!

New Orleans Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie
This pie is DELICIOUS! The 1st time I made it, it did not set very well, so I made some adjustments for the 2nd time when I made 2 for a retirement party at work: be sure and let your ingredients get to room temperature and then I lowered the temp to 350 and cooked about an hour. I served this with the "bourbon whipped cream" recipe submitted by POOKA75. We had a ton of desserts for the party and both of my pies were the only desserts that didn't have any leftovers! I had never made a pecan pie before this and I don't think I'll need to look for another recipe - this is great!

Kickin' Collard Greens
These collards were DELICIOUS - such wonderful flavor! I doubled the recipe for New Year's lunch and everyone loved them! I did add a few more strips of bacon and cooked the collards for about 2 hours.
