Swedish Christmas Glogg

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
I agree, add cardamon seed 1T. This is the greatest drink in the world on a cold, snowy night! The house will smell AMAZING!!!!! Put away the air freshener, put on a great holiday movie and snuggle into a big easy chair with your fluffiest jammies, slippers and blanket when you have a huge, warm cup of this stuff! Did I paint enough of a tempting pic for you? Good, now go make some, and tell the kids to eat the cookies you baked and stop bothering you for a glass of what you're having :-D LOL

Korean Marinated Flank Steak

I live in South Korea right now and this is a great recipe! It works well with pork ribs/steak, too! Wrap the cut up pieces in bib lettuce and enjoy with rice!

I'm not a fan of the sweet pickle relish, so I use dill pickles instead. A really great dish!

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2010
OMG! This is without a doubt, the best bread that has ever come out of my bread machine! I had always put in the yeast last and the bread comes out like a brick. Proofing the yeast first is the best thing to do! I actually substituted 3/4 cup of corn meal for 3/4 cup of regular flour and it absolutely came out amazing! I will never, ever, lose this recipe!

Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
It's far too watery going into the oven and, like many other reviewers, it takes FOREVER to cook. The recipe states that it should only take about 40 minutes, but I'd had mine in the oven for 1 hour, 15 minutes, and the middle has yet to set. The taste was passable, but I've had much better. :-(

Honey Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
Not bad. Definitely cakier than I expected and not nearly as sweet as I thought they'd be with all the honey. I used whole wheat flour for half the flour and cinnamon and nutmeg instead of anise, but I think anise would taste great if you have it. If you're seriously trying to lose weight and have a low fat treat, this wouldn't be bad with a glass of skim milk. Or with the whole wheat flour, like I did, you could even make these for a quick, healthy breakfast out the door. I made them because I had honey and didn't want to throw it out. I used what was on hand to make 'my own' recipe of sorts. But they're not bad at all!

Chickpea Falafel Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2007
I actually added a little more egg white to keep the batter together AND I added some minced up greek olives! Whoa, awesome! (not sure why one commenter said that it was dangerous frying food, but maybe they should get in the kitchen and try cooking a little more often. It gets less scary the more you learn ;-)

Pineapple Scones

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
People in the states tend to like things super-sweet because they've been weaned on Twinkies. Scones are NOT supposed to be overly sweet. These are very good, considering the fact that the dough is like that of cookie dough. I just used tablespoon fulls and dropped them on the sheet. AWESOME! And not too much sugar. Have them with tea or coffee and they're even better!

Powdered Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
I actually only had whole wheat flour in the house so I used that and added a little more than a tablespoon of baking powder to the mix. Then I spiced up the cookies with some cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. If you use professional baking pans with the tiny holes at the bottom and the other pan that fits underneath that to buffer the heat on the bottom, the cookies come out perfectly round like store-bought cookies. Either way you back my version...WOWWIE! Awesome!

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2006
I made this for my boyfriend who loves blueberry pie and he LOVED it! He couldn't wait for it to cool, so it sort of fell apart, but it was still absolutely delicious! I would just suggest that the mixture be heated slightly before adding to the shell to ensure that all of the sugar mixture is blended effectively. Great pie!

Soft Pineapple Cookies

Not exactly sure what happened but I followed this recipe word for word and they came out super flat and far too cakey. The taste is so-so, SO I'll have them with some ice cream.
