Marzetti® Italian Penne Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
Easy recipe. Made the following changes: used 1 (2oz.) can sliced black olives, 1 (10oz.) jar sundried tomatoes, 1 (7oz.) jar sweet peppers.

Mango-Strawberry Salsa

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2012
Followed the recipe exactly. Turned out very runny. The balsamic vinegar/fruit favors did not mesh well. Too woodsy for fruit. Thanks anyway.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
Forget the double boiler. Put the chocolate/shortening in the microwave. Zap it for 30 seconds. Stir. Zap it for 30 more seconds. Done. Dip your berries. This recipe covered 30 healthy-sized berries for me. Enjoy! A good rule of thumb to remember is 1 Tablespoon of shortening for every 1 Cup of chocolate chips. I used semi-sweet chips. I decorated the berries with 1/3 Cup melted white chips. I put the melted chips in a ziploc bag, poked a hole in one of the corners and squeezed the chocolate onto the berries. Mmmmm!

Frosty Pineapple Salad

Reviewed: May 5, 2011
I found the whipped topping flavor overpowering in this recipe. Family members didn't care for the texture of the crushed pineapple within the salad. Won't use again. Sorry.

Caramelized Onions

Reviewed: May 5, 2011
Yummy! The only substitution I used was honey in place of molasses. I prepared these for grilled burgers. I agree that some of the onion flavor is lost with the other ingredients added. It's not bad, just different. I won't use this on burgers again because I like the onion flavor to dominate in caramelized onions. I will, however, add this to baked beans in the future. Thanks!

White Chocolate Snack Mix

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
Love this recipe. My family calls it Reindeer Chow. It's a great holiday snack to have around the house or to bring to school/office parties as it makes a massive amount. It's easy to half if you're feeding a smaller crowd. Thanks!

Easy Apple Coleslaw

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
I followed the recipe with the exception of the carrot. I enjoyed it, but others did not. Nice variation on cole slaw.

Toasted Almond Party Spread

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
I made this according to directions. I found the mayonnaise and swiss cheese made it oily. The flavor wasn't impressive. Sorry, won't be making this again.

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
I doubled this recipe for my family of five. I used a jellyroll pan lined with aluminum foil and coated with cooking spray. Otherwise, the honey makes the mixture sticky and clean-up time consuming. Even the kids liked this one. Thanks!

Juicy Peach Crisp

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
Yummy! I left out the almond extract as I didn't want to detract from the peach flavoring. I used 1/2 c. flour and 1/2 c. oats as suggested by others. The taste probably isn't any different if one uses the full cup of flour and leaves out the oats. I didn't make any other changes. Oven temperature and baking time were spot on for me. My sweet tooth did not find this too sweet with the full cup of sugar. My search for a tasty peach crisp recipe stops with this one. Will definitely make again. Thanks!

Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
Other than using 6 fresh peaches, I prepared the recipe as written. It turned out fine, but I found the taste rather lackluster and bland. I won't be making again. Thanks anyway.

Blueberry Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2010
Cake turned out well. 60 minutes at 350 was right on for me. The cake had good consistency. The flavor was good as well. However, there wasn't anything that stood out making this cake exceptional. It was just a simple blueberry pound cake. Although, the taste was fine, I think I'll keep looking for that 'wow' recipe. Thanks anyway.

Ultimate Frozen Strawberry Margarita

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
There wasn't anything remarkable about this margarita recipe. I needed to double the amount of strawberries in order to draw out some strawberry taste. I don't think I will use again. Thanks anyway.

Chocolate Mint Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
Yes, these cookies are flat. It's the nature of the recipe. If you don't want flat cookies, don't make these. Personally, I don't care what a cookie looks like. I find it more important that it tastes good. If you want a delicious cookie regardless of whether or not it's flat; try these. I followed the recipe exactly using Andes mints. They were chewy and yummy not crispy at all like some reviewers' results. Everyone in the house enjoyed them. I'll be adding them to my Christmas staples. Thanks a bunch!

Fluffy Scrambled Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
Followed the recipe exactly. The eggs came out very fluffy; indeed quite bouncy. However, I agree with other reviews that the addition of the evap. milk detracted from the egg taste. Since it didn't improve the taste, I'll save my money and not include the evap. milk next time I prepare scrambled eggs. Thanks anyway.

Dried Beef Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
I didn't use the MSG. Even after rinsing all the beef, I still found this too salty. I recommend using onion powder not onion salt.

Frosted Chocolate Cookies

Baked these cookies following the recipe. I did not frost them. Found them too cake-like with a tangy/sour aftertaste. Sorry, I won't be making again.
