Grilled Fish Tacos with Chipotle-Lime Dressing

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
made this twice now, once marinating the fish without chopping into chunks first, the second time I chopped in into chunks and marinated it all day - definitely the way to go! much more favorable. I agree it is hard to cook the fish on the BBQ when it is in chunks but worth the work around, even if you do in the oven. also toned down the amount of chipotle in the the dressing the second time around, I put two whole chipotle's plus juice the first time to bring it up to 1/4 cup and it was way too much. Can't wait to try this with some homemade salsa or corn relish! Hubby even suggested we have one fish taco night a week now :)

Barbecue Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
Used 3 lbs of pot roast beef, cooked in slowcooker for approx five hours on high with cup of beef broth in the bottom. Made sauce as directed, found it to be enough for 3 lbs of beef. However I added a bit extra beef broth to increase sauce amount. Would definitly double the sauce recipe if I used more meat. used beef broth instead of water to fill up the chili sauce jar... very good! I give the sauce five stars but think a slow cooker is best for meat that is easy to shred. I think I will use this on my pulled pork as well, can't wait to see what the leftovers taste like tonight!

Ginger Orange Glazed Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
Nice delicate flavor. I thought these wings were nice and would be good for those guests who don't like really saucy, strong flavored wings. I cooked on a broiler pan so that they would crisp up, the result of this was that the marinade all fell through to the pan underneath. had I cooked them in the sauce on a cookie sheet as recommended, they may have tasted stronger, I will try this next time.

Lighter Banana Muffins

A little bit dry but I also made as is, next time will try with some of the other suggestions, this recipe has potential!! I want to make it work, I also like not having to put butter or oil into the mix

Garlic and Cheese Bruschetta

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
soo good! used a long baguette instead of french loaves, and made ahead of time so they were ready to stick in the oven. might try herb and garlic cream cheese next time for a little twist!

Southern Grilled Barbecued Ribs

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
this was my first shot at ribs, I made them for the mother and mother-to-be on mother's day and they said that I was hosting the dinners from now on..lol..the only thing to note was that when I adjusted the recipe for 6lbs of ribs...the amount of BBQ sauce I made was waaaay more than we needed...I had no clue what to do will all that BBQ sauce!!! I double checked the recipe to make sure we weren't supposed to cook the ribs in the sauce, found out we weren't. I used it to baste repeatedly and even put the ribs on a platter and then poured it over, and I still had more than half the amount...the food itself though was absolutly delicious

Baked Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2013
I liked the method most of all, the coating created a seal that kept all the juices in, creating, by far, the juiciest chicken wings I have cooked! Usually when we try to do them in the oven all the juices run out and we are left with small little wings!

Mushroom and Goat Cheese Quesadillas

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2013
good but slimy, I think maybe some chicken would give the mushrooms/cheese something to grab on to, will try that addition next time.

Maple Glazed Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2012
This was excellent, did as other reviewers suggested and cooked the ribs for a bit first, then drained fat off before mixing with sauce and continuing to bake. Baked at 325 instead of 350 because my oven is quite hot

Pineapple Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2010
This was really good! next time I would put fresh pinapple on the skewer along with the chickin. I agree with some other reviewers in that I am skeptcial about reusing marinade, even after boiling, so I just doubled the recipe and used half to marinade and half for the sauce (thickening with corn starch) - delicious

Cream of Broccoli Soup I

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
Delicious, even tasted good the next day. Pureed almost all of the broccoli, chopped up the rest, also added hot sauce at the end to taste, it warms you from the inside out!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
this was really good, better than the other lettuce wrap recipes I've tried thus far so it is the one I am sticking with. Good by itself or as a base recipe, only changes I made was to add some water chestnuts for crunch and some fresh ginger, also mixed the rice in with the rest as another reviewer had suggested

Meatball Grinders with a Yummy Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
This was a really good recipe, would also be a quick recipe had I used frozen meatballs, but I just couldn't justify spending that much when I could easily make them myself for half the price, made four lbs of meatballs and browned them before adding to the sauce. Does make a lot but that's okay! As others have suggested you can just freeze the leftovers and slowcook one day for an easy no fuss dinner

Plum Glazed Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
OH MY...I used 12 oz of "sriracha" hot chili sauce (the one with the rooster on the front) and it was all you could taste and waaaay too hot (and I like hot), I don't think I used the right kind, maybe I'll try heinz chili sauce next time

Creamy Twice-Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
Very good! Liked using cream cheese much better than the loads of butter, sour cream and milk I use in my other baked potato recipes...same creamy results but with the use of flavored cream cheese (i used onion and chive) it really added another level...delicious

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2008
I thought this chilli was really good but not spicy, I thought chilli powder was more spicy than it actually is, so I will keep the recipe and try to find a way to kick it up a notch next time. P.S I didn't think it was too runny at all! especially the next day after it solidifies a bit
