Citrus Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2007
I have used this brine several times for chickens as well as turkeys. I should have rated it a long time ago. THIS WORKS FOR A GOOD JUICY CHICKEN, ROASTER OR TURKEY!!!!

Linda's Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2006
This was excellent! I've only made lasagna one other time and this was so much better. I did use Ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese only because of what I remember about eating cottage and peaches as a snack as a kid (ARGH). Never want cottage cheese again. Instead of no-bake noodle or boiling the noodles, I placed them in room temperature water for about 40 minutes and that worked great. (got this from someone else on AllRecipes) I added about 1 teaspoon of basil and a bay leaf to the sauce while it simmered. Be sure to remove the bay leaf! Since it's only me and my 21 year old son at home, I have a lot of leftovers and it was exceptional the next day. I also shared with my niece and her 2 year old and they loved it!!

Lamb Chops with Balsamic Reduction

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2014
This recipe was wonderful and I prepared it just as written EXCEPT I had to increase it for 6 Chops instead of 4. I served it with Fingerling potatoes and a broccoli, cauliflower, red & green pepper and carrot veggie mix and bread. I will be keeping it on rotation for my family.

Slow-Cooked German Short Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2006
I made this recipe today. I don't know about the heritage, German, not German, but it was excellent! I made a couple of changes such as white wine instead of red, chilli paste instead of sauce beacause that is what I had on hand. The type of vinegar wasn't specific and I used Apple Cider. I also added garlic and two bay leaves. I also did my browning a little differently. I made a flour/salt/pepper mixture in a bag and shook the ribs, a few pieces at time in the bag and browned each rib adding Olive oil when needed. After they were all browned, I added them to the crock along with the left over pan drippings. The little extra flour and the pan remainings caused the sauce to thicken just right in the crock and I didn't have to thicken it in the end. I invited my son/daugter-in law, 2 grand children, niece and great nephew to dinner for this meal and they loved it. I served it with home-made string beans (cooked with turkey necks, onions, garlic) and Rosemary, Garlic Mashed potatoes. Thanks a lot! PS. The aroma was simply wonderful!

Roasted Lemon Herb Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2006
Absolutely Wonderful! What I did differently was to put it in a brine (found on this site) 24 hours before preparing it. I also put the olive/lemon mixture on the outside before putting on the seasonings. I used a bird twice the size so I doubled most of the ingredients except the olive oil. I used 1 extra teaspoon instead of 2. I always invite my niece and hcr children, and my nephew for dinner on Sunday's and they really loved it. Since my niece only has a three year old and a 2 month old, she will use a Roaster instead of a Turkey for Thanksgiving this year and use this recipe. Thank you for sharing!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
This recipe is absolutely delicious! I did use the 1/2 white and 1/2 brown sugar just because I though it would be more favorful and everything else I did exactly as directed. I also baked it for the full hour before it was done. I had to turn it up a bit in the last 10 minutes. This is a wonderful recipe that I am sure that I will make often as a dish to bring for any occasion! Thank you so much for this.

My Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2011
Wonderful recipe! I used fresh Lump Crab and added a little lemon juice. I can't wait to try it with the Planko but I didn't have any so I used Italian bread crumbs. I also didn't fry but put them in the broiler on a pan covered with Aluminum foil with coated in EVOO for about 5 or so minutes on each side. My baby LOVED it better than our favorite Crabcake restuarant.

Buffet Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
I made this recipe almost exactly as written. The only thing I did differently was to add everything in the crockpot without boiling first and I added a little more of each liquid so that the sauce would cover the meatballs in my crock pot. These are for today's superbowl party at my house and now I wish I had made more just so I can be sure to have leftovers for tomorrow.

This is a very good recipe. I have a friend who does not like meatloaf always asking me to let them know when I prepare this for dinner again.
