Triple Berry Crisp

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
WOW! I love Ina Gartens crisp and always will, but this one is heavenly! The crisp on the top and bottom is delightful, not overpowering as one might think. I made exactly as written (heavy handed on the fruit) and received rave reviews. Thanks for the recipe!

Jerre's Black Bean and Pork Tenderloin Slow Cooker Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
Good and easy, but I did find that it needed more flavor, so I added garlic salt, doubled the chili powder and cumin, also some cayenne pepper. Toppings are important, I believe - shredded cheese, sour cream, scallions, and avocado. Some cilantro would have been a nice garnish as well. Family said they really enjoyed it and would eat again. There are so many recipes out there that I may try something else next time, but I am happy I made it.

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2010
Excellent! I prepared as directed except for the substitution of tomato paste for ketchup. I marinated for 2 hours which was almost too much because of the lemon juice (cooks the shrimp) but was still okay. Next time, no more than hour and a half. I received rave reviews and will use as my "go to" recipe from now on. I am a very picky cook and give this recipe 5 stars. My culinary friend and neighbor asked for the recipe, and considering her skill level, I was honored.

Hasty Chocolate Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2010
Bravo! Why hadn't I thought of looking for a recipe before all these years? My daughter really wanted some pudding after a surgery, and I was sad to find my pantry empty (of the box stuff, you know). So, determined to fulfill her wish, I figured I'd attempt one by scratch. EASY & Delicious, what could be better? I added a dash of salt & butter as others recommended. So fab!

Cedar Planked Salmon

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
Absolutely delicious! I had 3 large pieces of salmon, so I doubled the sauce and ended marinating over 1.5 hrs. It was so amazing, moist, flavorful, and makes a lovely presentation. I followed the recipe exactly and will make again and again and again (please know I am not a huge salmon fan, prefer catching over eating - but this recipe made all the difference.) Highly recommend! My planks did catch fire, so I have to work on a better solution for that issue.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
Sorry, I forgot to add that I included a pound of fresh mushrooms (quartered) since we love them. When the stew was done, I also added some frozen peas and let them thaw/heat until done and served. Yummy!

Salmon with Brown Sugar and Bourbon Glaze

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2009
Delicious! Wouldn't hesitate to serve for company either but proud to serve family. Only changes to recipe I made were to briefly soak fillets in milk, then sprinkle with garlic powder (had no fresh, egads!) & pepper, then add 2 T soy sauce to sugar mixture prior to adding fish. Very tasty, nice sauce with the perfect consistency. I read reviews who thought it was too sweet, but not for our tastes.
