Noodles Marmaduke

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
Marmaduke I have no idea what it means but it turned out to be a very good stroganoff. We loved it. I used Sherry cooking wine rather then the Burgundy wine because that’s what I had home. I used a little bit of beef bouillon in water to make more liquid to cook the noodles in. Turned out very good and easy to prepare.

Bodacious Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
We love this salad we have had it on occasion similar to this one. One word of caution if you like to put extra pepper on your dinner plate this is the salad for you because it has plenty of pepper in it. Otherwise, I would cut down to 1 teaspoon of pepper. One more thing the recipes says 12 servings, probable if you are having a big meal with lots of other things, and you eat like a bird but we are only 3 here and I served it with chicken strips and we easily polished it off and I don’t think we were being greedy.

Mexican Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2006
Wow good soup. I did not have cilantro so next time I make it I will try with cilantro. I also did not have avocado at home and in a rush to get supper on, I forgot the chips. I thought the soup was great anyway and I saved on calories.

Zucchini Bread III

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2006
This is really good bread. I made it exactly as the recipe calls for. I did have a mishap though. I did mention in my profile that my cooking tragedies are always when I’m baking well it happened again. I took the bread out about 1 hr of baking I inserted a toothpick and it came out clean, my little voice told me the toothpick did not reach the bottom but I chose not to listen, the problem came when I when to put it on the cooling rack, the bottom caved in, the bread was not fully cooked, I had to try to put it back in the pan, what a mess. It didn’t turn out nice looking but it sure is good. Next time I will insert a knife or something that I’m sure will reach the bottom of the pan. A lesson learnt.

What a nice and simple way to cook carrots. They’re simple to make but look very gourmet. Nice dish to impress company.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2006
Good! I didn’t change a thing, made it exactly as is. A little on the sweet side so it depends on what your looking for. The drippings made very nice gravy.

Zucchini Herb Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2006
Very, very good, I tossed in some mushrooms because I had some I wanted to use up, and I used the cheese I had on hand because I didn’t have any cheddar left.

Cajun Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2006
5 star no doubt about it. 1st of all I made half of the marinade because I only had 6 chicken breast and it was plenty of marinade, 2nd I used olive oil, and finally I refrigerated mine for about 5hrs. They came out very tender and moist. I will make this again and when I do I will probably put a little bit more Cajun seasoning. Thank so much for the great recipe Wood Halsey.

Spaghetti with Tomato and Sausage Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2006
Very nice flavor, we loved it. I used ground beef in mine. I will make this sauce again but I will add more mushrooms and big chunks of peppers and celery because I like veggies in my sauce. Thanks Melinda I used the leftover sauce to make Pizza burgers and let me tell you the sauce is even better the next day. I had leftover burger patties I put them in a bun with cheese and then the sauce in between and on top of the bun with a little bit of grated cheese. They were good.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars IV

Now these made my son very happy. They taste a little like a peanut butter cup. My husband even liked them and he is not a big fan of peanut butter. Thanks Justine

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2006
Good! I also used chicken broth rather then water. I didn’t have red wine vinegar, I used balsamic vinegar, and I also cooked my potatoes and carrots in the pot. Crock Pots are a great tool for working Moms you throw everything in and forget about it. I set mine on a timer so it will start and turn off on its own. My supper is never over cooked if I’m late.

Balsamic Pickled Eggs

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2006
These pickled eggs are not bad but not quite what I was looking for. My son loves pickled eggs but he did not like the little sweetness in these, I would probable leave the sugar out. The color is also very intimidating; if you can get past that it’s not a bad egg.

Superb chicken! We loved it. I also omitted the corn syrup and it was plenty sweet. You must be a mustard fan to like this recipe and we definitely are. I will be making this again Thanks a bunch Rebecca.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2006
I made this Chili for company and they liked it. Some of the kids really liked it to. However you have to like spicy food to really appreciate this chili because it is hot, I did cut down on some of the hot pepper sauce and the chili powder, and it was still quite hot especially for my father who normally does not eat very spicy food. My sister in law suggested adding carrots, one more veggie in there, sounds good.
