Grandma's Harvard Beets

While this recipe was close to what I was looking for, it was too sweet as is. I left out the cornstarch and the sauce jellied just fine without it.

Lemon Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
I made this using "one ball" squash from my garden last night, which I have in spades right now. I doubled the recipe and substituted 1/2 c. of butter for half of the oil and the bread turned out delicious and moist. I also used lime zest instead of lemon (it's what I had) and squeezed the juice from half of the lime into the batter as well to combat the strong squashiness of my one balls. The doubled recipe needed about an hour in the oven. I will definitely make this again.

Cocoa Quickies

I thought adding 3 cups of rolled oats would make it really chewy, so I added 2 cups of quick oats and 1 cup of rolled oats: I'm glad I did! I also added a heaping tablespoon of peanut butter, because I didn't have quite enough cocoa powder.

Banana Snack Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2008
I altered the recipe a little bit. Like others, I only used 3/4 cup of butter. I had four bananas on their way out, so I used them all. I was running short on chocolate chips, so I added cocoa powder to the dry mixture. And, I'm out of nuts. In the end, they are delicious. I love this recipe!

Salsa Borracha (Drunk Salsa)

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2006
i agree with the rest of the reviews; although the beer is a good idea, simmering the tomatoes and peppers loses their flavor. i added half an onion, x4 the garlic, and added 10 chiles tepin, but the blender made it very soupy...

Florentine Artichoke Dip

I changed this recipe a little, and I'll probably continue to play with it until I get something I love, but this was very very good. At a co-worker's suggestion, I cut th e cream cheese in half and added cheddar in its place. I left the spinach out, and I'll try it in next time. Very yummy overall.

I added some ginger to the sauce, and I used chili oil to add some heat. This dish was excellent!

Deep Dish Brownies

Like everyone else has said, this recipe is perfect. I baked it in a smaller deeper dish for 47 minutes, and it is perfect. Thanks!
