Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2006
Made this last night for a pot-luck party today. I didn't have two cans of cream of chicken soup, so I used one can of cream of mushroom. I love mushrooms so I added an extra can of those as well. It was a hit. Everyone loved it and I was happy with the outcome. This is a keeper!! Thank you!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2007
My parents came to visit me from Pennsylvania and I had this in the slow cooker when they arrived. My mom couldn't stop raving about this dish. I added an extra 1/2 cup of water and a bunch more carrots and potatoes, it was awesome.

Butter Rich Spritz Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2007
I just finished baking these moments ago, I really liked them. I just bought a new Wilton cookie press and this dough worked fine it it. I've had other cookie presses and they were cheaper and didn't work well at all. I couldn't get the handle to work the entire time, but I was able to use the plunger without a problem...I'll just have to practice. I used a star shaped die and ended up with more than 50 cookies. I took some advise and used 1 whole egg instead of 2 yokes but kept everything else the same. Great cookie. Thanks!

Cream Cheese Spritz

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2007
I wasn't crazy about these cookies. They really didn't have much of a lemon flavor and I had to add a couple tablespoons of milk because the dough was not a good consistency for the cookie press. I then had to put them back in the oven a couple times because they flet like they were done, but after breaking one while placing them on the cooling rack they were still raw inside. I might try some alterations to this recipe.

Honey Butter Spread

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
I wanted to make a nice spread to go with a new cinnamon bread I'm baking, this sounded good and the taste was pretty good too. I added some walnuts to give it a bit of a crunch. I can't wait to try it tomorrow after the flavors had a chance to mix in the fridge.

Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
I just finished making these and I must say the flavor is great. I thought the spices may be a bit much, but it was perfect. I wouldn't change a thing there. The dough was a bit hard to work with and I refrigerated it for 24 hours. However, I didn't use a floured surface because I didn't want to make the cookies to hard with additional flour so I rolled the dough in batches on a silicone baking mat then transferred them with a spatula to a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper (as suggested by others) and they came out fine.

I followed the recipe exact and everone loved them. Many in my family said they were pretty strong, just how they like them. I did leave them set for a while for the flavors to mingle. Great, easy recipe.

Almond Custard Filling

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
I love this filling. Of course I love almond-flavored anything! I think it could have used a bit more almond extract, but I followed the recipe exact being the first time I attempted it. I used this for filling for a chocolate 8" layer cake, it looks like I have enough for two cakes. Great recipe. Thank you!

Lower Fat Banana Bread I

Excellent!! I made a triple batch since I had so many bananas. I didn't use the margarine but substituted applesauce. I made one plain, one with raisins and the third with crasins, all came out great.

Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2008
I loved this recipe!! I had quite a few cookies to cover so I made a single batch in my mixer and saw it wasn't much so I added more ingredients to make a second batch. It was a bit thin so with two batches in the mixer I added about an extra cup of the powdered sugar. I also used a little bit of clear vanilla extract to give it a bit more flavor without adding color. I wanted to make a couple different colors so I divided it up into smaller bowls and used my gel colors so as not to add liquid to the glaze. The thicker glaze dried fairly quickly and tasted great on my sugar cookies.

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2008
This was very good. As my husband says "It's a do over". I didn't have dijon mustard so I substituted with honey mustard, added to the sweetness a little, but still gave it some zing. I will need to get some dijon and try again. Thank you for sharing.
