Pumpkin Puree

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2011
Excellent!! I've always used canned pumpkin before, but this was so easy. I bought two pie pumpkins today and they were about 3-4 pounds each, needed to cook about 2 hours.

Crab and Swiss Omelet

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
This was pretty good, I skipped the mushroom just because I didn't have any (very unlike me) but the omelet was good, thought it lacked a little seasoning, and this is from someone who doesn't season a whole lot.

Boston Baked Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
This is now my official baked bean recipe. I never made homemade baked beans before these past couple months when I tried a few recipes and found that this one is my favorite. I prepared exactly as written but as they cooked I added about another few tablespoons of brown sugar. I like my beans a bit on the sweet side. Awesome recipe, thanks!!

Pineapple Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
These were pretty good, I only used 5 sweet potatoes, but they were quite large. As far as the spices are concerned I used 1/2 t of cinnamon and 1/4 t of ginger, nutmeg and cloves. Just a hint, undercook the potatoes a bit when inthe water.

Maple and Ginger Baked Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2011
Not bad, I used bacon instead of diced pork, but everything else on the list remained the same. I did not use a slow cooker, just my dutch oven at 350 until the beans seemed done. They were good, but as the third baked bean recipe I've recently tried I think I lean more to a tomatoy based baked bean such as in the Boston Baked Bean recipe on the site. These were good and I may make again and adjust a little more to my taste.

One-Dish Beef and Mushroom Skillet Dinner

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
This was good, I didn't have tomoates on hand, but used a large zucchini. Next time might add some fresh mushrooms as they are my favorite.

Honey Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
Thought these were pretty good, it was definitely fall-off-the-bone style ribs. I wish the sauce would have thickened up, and I guess I could have put it in a pan and cooked it down, but that defeats the purpose of slow cooking. I'm just more of a smoked rib with thick sauce kina gal. But I will make these when we aren't using the smoker.

Easy Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
Very good and quick. I doctored it up a little bit, added fresh mushrooms, some extra potatoes, carrots, green beans and used baby carrots and added a bit extra broth and spices, still the basic soup though and a good quick veggie soup. Great to add almost any veggie or beef that you may have left over.

Easy Mushroom Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
OMG!!! This ia as wonderful as it is easy. This will be a side dish on my Thanksgiving table this year. I did not use canned broth, but broth from a box carefully measured and I used 8 oz of fresh mushrooms instead of canned. This will now be a staple side dish in my house. Thank you!!

Smoked Tomato Bisque

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
Liked the bisque, I thought it was a bit thick and a tad on the bitter side, but I can work wiht that and I'll be making this again.

Grilled Onions

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
Put two of these on the smoker while hubby was making brisket. YUM!! I completely agree with the reviewer that said it tastes like French onion soup. This will be a go-to any time I grill!!

Maple-Apple Baked Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
I used the pure maple syrup and halved the recipe but left the syrup at 1 cup, it really needed the extra liquid. I also had to use the reserve liquid. I loved the beans, hubby and my mom liked them too, but by the time hubby finished them he thought they were a little on the sweet side. Mom and I like them sweet.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2011
Loved this recipe. Had a similar recipe I found in Cooking Light magazine that used low fat yogurt instead of sour cream. I used low fat sour cream and everything came out great. I do agree with others though, the cook time is off, I did use an 8x8 pan because I didn't have a 9x9, but I had to increase my cook time by almost double!!

Crumb-Coated Chicken Thighs

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2011
Made this for dinner tonight, I've really taken a liking to chicken thighs lately and this was another recipe I enjoyed. The spices weren't perfect for my taste, but I can appreciate the mixture and I know my hubby would like it, so I'll have to make it again when he is home. Thanks!

Country Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
This was a wonderful pound cake. A co-worker was asking for a pound cake so I thought I'd give this one a try. I followed the recipe exact except I used a silicone bunt pan that I coated with the Wilton Cake Release I use when I bake regular cakes. I thought this was one of the most wonderful and moist pound cakes ever. I enjoyed the lemon extract and I think I'll try almond next time as almond is my favorite. I thought the batter was a bit much, but it filled the pan when baking perfectly. It's a keeper.

Roasted Apples and Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
Loved this!! Unfortunately we only had one onion on hand, and we used fresh brussel sprouts, and one granny smith apple and one gala apple. We placed everything in cast iron bowls and put them on the grill instead of in the oven, it was awesome!! Loved the little bit of char and carmelization.

Honey Cornbread

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
Hands down the best cornbread recipe I ever made. We like ours a bit sweeter. I cut the recipe in half and it made 6 muffin cups...I like portion control. Awesome recipe, I'll be making these often.

Cappuccino Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
Good flavor, but definitely a more cake like texture than a brownie-like texture...could have been my fault though I cut the recipe in half and accidnetly added too much butter. I'll have to try again and report back. Howeer, it was good enought that I would still make it again.

Jill's World-Famous Coffee Liqueur Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
These were really good, good flavor and good texture. I followed the recipe exact using Starbucks cream coffee liquor. I'll keep this recipe as a go-to for a great chocolately crowd pleaser.
