Happy Birthday America!
About this Cook
I love to bake. I have been married 25 years with 2 boys ages 22 and 17.
My favorite things to cook
Cinnamon rolls. Cookies. Enchiladas and Spanish Rice. Hot buttered rum. Bread. Desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving is a big deal at our house. Hot buttered rum and hot spiced apple cider are always a must.
My cooking triumphs
When I first got married I was qualified to make grated cheese and ice cubes according to my husband's uncle and he was right. If he could only see me now he would be so proud!
My cooking tragedies
The first time I made biscuits and gravy, the gravy was tasty but spreadable...I cried.

Wine and Garlic Pork (Portuguese Vina Dosh)
OH my God, this is wonderful! My husband's family is from the Azores, Terceira to be specific, and settled in Tulare, Hanford area. His father would use Vina Dosh marinade for rabbit and chicken. Unfortunately he passed away and so did the recipe. When I tried this and my husband ate it, he was so happy. He said it is as close as I could possibly get, I am sure a different wine would make a different taste, but this is the real deal. THANK YOU SO MUCH CALI-CHEF. Also, I have a portuguese beans recipe I submitted that will be perfect with these, if Allrecipes doesn't post it, find it on justapinch.com Thanks again !

Hot Dog a la Potato
Easy recipe, we call it stuffed weiners. You can use the packets of seasoned instant potatoes such as garlic or loaded potatoes, forget the american cheese, add cheddar and bake for 30 minutes. Add a little Frank's sauce if you want and it goes great with a salad and some Stouffer's mac and cheese...try some Frank's on the mac and cheese too!
