Lentil and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
Very good flavor. I used polish rope sausage because it was what I had on hand. I think either would be good. Used a bit more chilli pepper flakes. Nice and spicy with deep flavor. Oops I forgot I also used beef broth instead of chicken. Made it richer I'm sure. Nice way to use up a bunch of lentils I had in the pantry.

Fresh California Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
This is exactly the salsa recipe I use all the time. My husband LOVES it! I usually substitute one of the tomatoes for about 1/4 cup tomato sauce if I have it on hand and I throw everthing in my blender whole and pulse it til it's the consistancy we like. We like it less chunky like the mexican resturants make it. I have also left out the lime when I didn't have it and it was still great. This recipe is the BEST and you can adjust any of the ingredients to suit your taste. Yummmmm

Nobody really cared for this at my house. Guess we'll stick to regular reuben sandwiches.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
I had some huge bags of garden slaw given to me so I tried this recipe. Used real mayo instead of Miracle Whip because no one here likes it. This was really, really good. And it does taste just like KFC coleslaw.

Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2009
My favorite baked ham recipe. Please don't waste your money on a spiral or smoked ham. It works best with a regular uncooked ham. Sometimes I add some pinapple chunks with juice. Always gets compliments.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
To die for! Even my husband who does not care for coconut gobbled this up! Used can of coconut milk and added half and half to make 3 cups, but I'm sure it tastes awesome without. Topped with stabilized(stays firm longer)whipped cream. Also used the microwave to cook the filling and it worked great, stir every 3 minuted till thickened.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
This recipe is awesome. I only use one packet of yeast (2 1/2 teaspoons) and it rises nice and high. I cut back the sugar to 1/3 cup for personal preference. I have also made half white, half wheat and it turns out great. Makes yummy cinnamon swirl bread too!

Cheesecake Supreme

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
I made this recipe for a family Christmas gathering this year. I followed other posters advice and cooked at 400 for 10 min. and then 200 for 3 hours. Then turned off the oven and cracked the door open for 1 hr. It came out perfect. Beautiful and no cracks. I cooked mine in a 9" springform pan. I also used vanilla wafers instead of graham crumbs and decreased the sugar in the crumbs to a couple of tablespoons since they are already sweet. Served with cherry pie topping. Unfortunatly I never got to try it myself as my son came down with the flu and I stayed home with him while the rest of the family went. I did however recieve many phone calls raving about this cheesecake, some saying it was the best they ever had. As soon as I get my springform pan bottom back (my husband forgot it) I will make another just for us.
