Egg in a Hole

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2010
I'm 58 yrs. old & my Daddy use to make these for us, using leftover hamburger buns. He would use a jigger for the hole & some of the egg would be on top of the bun. My twin sis, Mom & I loved them! I now make them w/bakery Jalepeno/Cheese bread & they are delicious! Thanks for the memories!! :)

Crispy Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2010
At 59 yrs. old, I had only tried to fry chicken 3 times & because I love a lot of crispy crust, I failed all times w/crust in one bowl & chicken in another. :) When I saw this picture, I just had to try it & WOW am I glad I did! It's incredible & to get it tasty just do as other's suggested--add the spices you prefer! I can't thank you enough for this recipe! I LOVE it!

Fried Green Tomatoes

BETHZUKE, thank you, thank you, thank you! I don't like cornmeal batter & the all flour is okay but this IT, for me! The batter stayed on & all I did differently was add a red/black pepper mixture for the pepper, plus added some garlic powder. I didn't share these w/anyone! :) Thanks, again!

Egg Salad English Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
THANK YOU, DEBORAH! I have been searching for an egg salad recipe that didn't have relish or onions in it & thanks to you , I have found the most wonderful of them all, to me! :) It was great the way you made it because I tasted it then, but added a bit of black pepper & garlic to mine. So glad that I doubled the recipe because I ate half of the salad before it even made it to the English Muffins! :) Again, thank you for giving me the egg salad I have been in quest of for a while! :)

Precious Pineapple Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Thanks, Linda, for a scrumptuous, easy recipe. I would give it 10* if I could. Only thing I did differently is that I used a pineapple cake mix & a 13" by 9" pan. Oh yea, I did add more pecans because I'm a nut who loves nuts!!! :)

Striped Delight

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
The pudding I used had been in my cabinet forever & never got firm after 24 hrs.(Guess that was the reason??) So, I poured/mopped it off, then I melted a bag of Hershey's Almond/Toffee Nuggets, added the remaining whipped topping & refridgerated it. Everyone who tasted it RAVED about it! Am sure it would be great w/the pudding but think I like mine better. :o)

Crab-Stuffed Catfish

This recipe is out-of-this-world! Thanks, Joy! My guests thought I was a gourmet cook. Ha, ha! I even assembled it the night before & just baked it when we were ready to eat. Oh, I doubled the recipe & drizzled the whole dish with melted butter before baking.

Wow, this is great & can be used as other reviewers advised--a dessert or a side dish. Picky guest even liked it. Today I found a can of peach tidbits & can't wait to try them because I love peaches, too. THANKS for the recipe!

Pork Chops a la Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2009
Depended on a recipe similiar to this when I began cooking & used my "baby crockpot" because we lived in FL with no AC. :o) I don't fry the chops, always use any "cream of" soup & mix a can of French Onion soup with it. Put a cup of Instant rice in the crock, stir in half of the soup mixture, lay the seasoned chops on top of the rice, pour the remaining soup on top of it & cook on L for 6 to 8 hrs. Toward the end of cooking, I stir the sauce around a bit. Tender pork chops & rice all in one pot. Have done chicken thighs the same way for over 22 years. Can adjust for larger crockpots, also.

Pecan Pie Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
These are "out of this world" delicious! I had no trouble getting them out of the pan because I liberally sprayed tins with butter-flavored Pam. Made 12 regular size muffins. Didn't change anything--unless using Jumbo eggs & pulverized pecans due to using my chopper counts as changing. :o)THANKS!

Great recipe! I'm sure it would be just as good on it's on because I liked the combination & simplicity. I did add a can of green chilies & minced garlic but can't wait to try it without those changes. :o) Thanks!
