I've been looking for something like this for quite a while. I liked the taste of this, but I thought it was a bit too soupy, not as firm as I would have liked.
First of all, I added chopped onions, garlic and celery to the beef as I was browning it. I also added some oregano and Worchestershire sauce. I cooked it down until it was nearly dry before adding only one can of cream of mushroom soup. I thought a second can would make it too wet and I'm glad I did. Also, I added a little cream to the potatoes because I thought they were too dry. I also over salted a little.
But all in all, it was pretty good and quite filling.
