Gramma Brown's Corn Chowder
I, too, made a roux by adding 1/4 cup of flour to 1/2 of the bacon drippings. I added 1 tsp. smoked paprika, 1/2 tsp. parsley flakes & 4 slices deli honey ham, diced. I also drained the bacon after cooking & added it as a garnish to keep it's crunchiness. After all that it was a really delicious soup!

Antipasto Pasta Salad
Living in St. Louis we have access to several Italian markets and I took advantage of that. It did cost a little more but the flavor was there. I used piccolini, or small rigatoni noodles, which tend to absorb the dressing and it holds really well. Also, instead of canned black olives I used marinated olives, both black and green, that I picked up at the deli. I substituted the tomatoes for cherry or grape tomatoes and cut them in half. Lastly, I used Wish Bone House Italian dressing, made with olive oil. I also used all the same ingredients but substituted the pasta for Romaine lettuce.....that was REALLY delicious! Happy cooking!

Dump Cake II
I've made this dump cake for years - the only thing I'll bake. It's my family's fave and sooooo easy to make!
