About this Cook
I was born in PR and my love for food and cooking quickly developed when I was a young girl. My mom is a great cook, so are my aunts. I have been cooking since I was 11 and being a regular in the kitchen helping and observing long before that.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook my Puertorican dishes the best. Oh, the flavor and memories of our food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas), Pernil (Pork Shoulder), Pollo Guisao' (Chicken Stew), some mean tostones (fried green plantains)
My cooking triumphs
Most of what I cook is a triumph to my family. They love my food and now my husband is cooking with me. We enjoy looking for recipes together, shopping for ingredients and prepping. Sitting down at the table together for dinner is a triumph
My cooking tragedies
Don't remember one now...but yes, I've had my tragedies, lol

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce
Very good sauce and easy to make. Usually I would not have cream cheese on hand but I did today. I added some garlic salt as my stick butter was unsalted also more cheese, yay!! Really good!!

Pollo Arvejado (Galician Chicken)
This was a good recipe but there is no way the chicken will fall off the bone in 25 minutes. I did boil the potatoes before frying them and they came out good. I did use more broth to cover chicken and adjusted seasonings.

Easy Paella
Yay! this recipe was awesome! Once we got all the ingredients together we were good to go..so easy. I couldn't find the rice so I got a bag of Vigo yellow Spanish rice and cooked it to its own directions. It came out great and so delicious. We did without the lemon/red pepper flakes. I also added some Paellero seasoning w/saffron. It was a hit and a keeper. Thanks again ;-)
