This cookie was light and tasty. It reminded us of shortbread but with more flavor. We also tried putting frosting on them--they were tasty but best left undecorated. We'll definitely make these again.

Baker's Secret Pie Crust

I already had a good pie crust recipe but needed one that would hold together better. This recipe was fantastic. It had body yet was flaky, and the flavor was marvelous. Keeping everything cold as Carole instructs is important. I used apple cider vinegar since I was out of white vinegar, and it was fine. I will definitely make this pie crust many more times.

Rhubarb Bread I

This is the best rhubarb bread I've ever eaten. My husband does not like rhubarb, but he loved this bread. I will fix it often! I left out the nuts and it was still delicious.

Sunflower Oatmeal Cookies

My family did not like this cookie. I thought it was acceptable but not exciting. I didn't add the coconut (and probably should have). Also, the sunflower seeds that I used were roasted but didn't go well with "sweet". That may have been part of the problem. People who love nutty, "healthy" kinds of tastes will like this cookie. Adding chocolate chips helped.

Cuban Beef Stew

I've made this recipe twice. The first time I did it exactly as the recipe said. It was stunngingly delicious. The second time I didn't have bay leaves or red pepper. While still good, the recipe really needed each ingredient. This stew was popular even with several "picky" eaters that I tried it on. My husband would like me to try adding carrots; I haven't yet because it may change the flavor too much. This stew is scrumptious!

Tortillas I

This is the first tortilla recipe I've found that makes tasty, pliable tortillas. They keep well for several days when sealed in a ziplock bag. Delicious and fast to make!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Sour Cream Fruit Pie

The adults in our group LOVED the pie. It does remind you of cheesecake, only lighter. Half of the kids liked it and half thought it was too tangy. We decided it was a "keeper!"

English Muffins

These were very tasty. They are best would cooked slowly. It takes time but the English Muffins are delicious. They keep well for about a week and toast well.

Absolutely Excellent Oatmeal Cookies

I only added choc. chips. I think this recipe would be best with more additions like nuts, dried fruit, coconut, etc. They seem a little dry the day after cooking even though their in a sealed jar.
