Summer Pasta with Basil, Tomatoes and Cheese

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2012
I've been making this for years and it's divine! I like it with fresh mozzarella and my husband likes as is with grilled chicken thrown in. Thank you, Gayle! Any leftovers are gone at lunch the next day.

Tomato Soup I

Reviewed: May 10, 2012
Very good. Doubled recipe and only used about 2 1/2 cups of cream. Next time I will start out with half the sugar and baking soda. Very sweet and not enough acidity for my taste. I used san marzano tomatoes, which I hadn't used before, and I think they are sweeter than what I usually buy.

Cranberry Sauce I

So easy and everybody thought I had slaved away to make cranberry sauce from scratch. Little did they know!

Chocolate Caramel Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
These are so good! My son requested brownies for his birthday school treat, and these were a hit. I asked him yesterday what he wanted to bring for the school holiday party, and he asked for these again. So easy and so good!

Turkey Wild Rice Soup

Yum! I didn't have any sherry, so I used Marsala instead.

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
We (those of us who would eat it) liked this soup. I didn't use bacon, and it still seemed to be kind of greasy. I cut the potatoes in chunks to save on prep time.

Ten Clove Garlic Marinade

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
This was good, but it didn't seem much more garlicky than my usual marinade. Maybe because I already use a lot of garlic.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
My husband loved this, but my 10 year old would not eat it. I think I did something wrong because I could not get the dumplings to separate; they just became one big blob. Maybe 2 cans of biscuits was too much.

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2008
This was good but the best part of this recipe is how easy it is to make. My husband likes crisp skin, so he thought it was just ok.

Grill Dough

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
Unbelievably delicious! My entire family raved over this, and we will definitely be making this regularly. It was so easy to make; used the Kitchen Aid with the dough hook. My husband did the grilling and my son and I put toppings on, a true family meal! I took others' suggestions and grilled one side, added toppings to it, and returned it to the grill to finish the other side. Brushed on garlic olive oil before putting on toppings. We just did the basics, pepperoni and margherita. Can't wait to experiment with other toppings! Thanks for an awesome recipe, Kristen!

Homemade Butter

So easy to make and the most delicious butter I have ever tasted. Saved me from having to throw out heavy cream left over from ice cream. Thank you!

Lap Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2008
Very good. My husband and I both liked it. A nice refreshing salad on a hot day, economical too. Used chopped peanuts and doubled the noodles and dressing. My husband needs to drown his salad. Thanks for a great recipe!

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
Yummy! These are requested for every shower I throw, and they are always the first thing gone. Only change I made was to use puff pastry cut into squares instead of the biscuits.

Pina Colada Sorbet

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2008
My husband says this is the best sorbet he's ever had, even better than the sorbets at our favorite upscale restaurant.

Cheddar Spirals

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2008
Son loved it, but my husband and I felt the pasta was overcooked and mushy. Will try again with pasta more al dente.
