Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2006
This was a great cookie! It really hit the spot for my family tonight. They were soft and chewy, but not too puffy! Just right!

Brown Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
These have to be one of my favorite cookies! Browning the butter doesn't take too much extra time, but it adds a wonderful nutty flavor - and I LOVE these cookies! Did I mention that I love them? I have never made the icing, but they are so good by themselves that I've never needed to.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
My family loves these scones! I found it when I was trying to copy a local bakery's scone recipe. So, I add cinammon to my dough, maybe 1/2 tsp. Then sprinkle the top with a little cinnamon and raw sugar. They are fantastic and my husband requests them for breakfast all the time!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2006
These are awesome!!! If you don't have shortening and substitute all butter - they taste fantastic, but tend to get a little crisper. If you go all shortening and margerine, they don't spread. I find that Beth has found a good proportion of shortening/butter for these cookies!

Mayonnaise Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2006
My family loves these biscuits! And they are awesomely easy to mix up and drop. I have found that if I pat the tops down (with floured hands) after dropping them, they look much nicer. No little spikes on top!

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2006
I always just whip this up as a dip and serve it with those graham sticks. It is always a hit and if you skip the 'making it into a ball' portion, super quick and easy! My friend likes to eat it with salty things like pretzel sticks!

Tiny Tarts

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2006
These tarts were fantastic. They did bubble up, but I didn't overfill them, so they didn't overflow. I had a cookie scoop that was the perfect size to measure the filling, so that made it go a lot faster. I loved the dough, I thought it was perfect with the filling. If the dough had been too much sweeter it might have competed with the filling, instead it was a perfect match.
