Grandma's Doughnuts

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2011
I've been making these for years and both my kids and grandkids gobble them up. This is how those little doughnuts at your favorite Chinese place are made.

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
I've been making this recipe for 50 yrs. Never added cheese but use 1 cup of quick oats instead of 1/2c and add a chopped onion to the mix. I only add the sauce during the last 10 minutes of cooking. Only meatloaf my husband and grandkids will eat. Great for sandwiches the next day, so make a double batch

Awesome Korean Steak

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
My husband loved this meal! I did tweek a little by adding 1/2 cup each of red and yellow peppers cut into thin strips and also 1 med onion (sliced) in addition to the shallots. Like the Mirin better than rice wine vinegar as it is sweeter. Did have to look a little harder for it. Found it online and at Meijer. I use the leftover marinade and add to meat and vegies after cooking and thicken with a little cornstarch. Served with lo mein noodles as we are not big rice eaters. The marinade is to die for without any changes. Great with Chicken too!

Jalapenos del Raton

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
I mixed the sausage with the cream cheese and stuffed 1/2 the jalepano and wrapped that 1/2 in regular bacon and put it in the oven til the bacon crisped and the cream cheese just started to ooze a bit. they are easier to eat than the whole pepper at once. My husband loves them and his coworkers want them for the next carry-in dinner. I also microwaved the pepper halves for 2-3 minutes before I stuffed them to ensure they were tender enough.

Mixture for Meatballs, Meatloaf or Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
Loved it except I use 1 Cup of instant oatmeal instead of the bread. Much healthier for you and makes them a little bit lighter.

Italian Meat Sauce I

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
Great sauce! The only thing I did differently was to use uncooked quick oats (oatmeal) instead of the bread crumbs. My family loved it.

Honey Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2008
Add some Lawry's or another brand of seasoning salt to this mix. Years ago a stekhouse here used to make a great Honey glazed chicken and I found out their secret. I usually use at least a tablespoon but you can adjust to taste.

Simple Beef Stroganoff

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
I use a 16 oz bag of wide egg noodles. I add 1 chopped onion and 2 cans cream of celery soup since my husband hates mushrooms. I add one 16oz container sour cream to the hamb. and soup mixture just before serving as to not break down the sour cream too much. I serve it over top of the noodles as you would spaghetti. I have made this for my family for 35 years and it has always been their favorite.
