Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
Delicious! Used beef broth instead of water, and added sliced peppers and onions for the last hour of cooking. Made into sandwiches and added slices of white cheddar and broiled for 2-3 min. More calories for dinner than we usually eat, but will reserve for special nights.

Hot Peanut Sauce

As written, I would say 4 out of 5 stars. I added 1 tablespoon curry, 1 tablespoon chili powder, fresh garlic and salt. With those additions, 5 stars. A keeper!

This is my go-to recipe for waffles except I use buttermilk instead of regular milk. Made bacon + cheddar waffles this morning w/ this recipe. Delicious!!!

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies III

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
I made these omitting the almond extract, using the full 1 tsp. of real vanilla extract. I also used real butter softened and baked for 8 min. with one additional min. left on the cookie sheet to firm up. They were soft, buttery, and delicious. No problem with the cookies spreading at all. A keeper!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2011
As written, I give the recipe 4 stars. With changes, it is definitely 5 stars! I substituted chicken broth for the water, and used a whole can of chicken broth. It seems like a lot but the liquid really cooks down. I used only 1 package of rolls, and cooked the rolls in the cooker for 1 1/2 hours, for a total cooking time of 5 hours. Delicious! Will make again.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
Delicious! Followed recipe except made two 8X8 pans instead of one 13X9. Mixed the ziti with the sauce and then put more sauce on top, followed by provolone and sour cream, then more ziti & sauce with mozzarella sprinkled on top. Baked at 350 for 30 minutes, then broiled for an additional 2-3 min. just to brown the cheese. This will be added to our dinner recipe rotation!

Cream Cheese Filled Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
I followed the recipe exactly, except sprinkled more brown sugar on top instead of sunflower seeds. The streusel topping would be good too. I thought these were very good. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is I thought the cream cheese filling could use a little sugar to be just a tad sweet. I will try that next time. These are a keeper!

Mexican Chicken I

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2011
4 stars with the exact recipe, however I did change the cooking time. I reduced over temp to 350, and baked 3 servings for one hour. 5 stars with this minor change. Sooo good, and hubby enjoyed too. This is a keeper!

Cake Balls

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2011
Yum! I made these yesterday with red velvet cake mix, cream cheese frosting, and dipped them in chocolate. They didn't turn out quite at pretty as the pictures, but they tasted good. I am giving this 4 stars because I refrigerated the dough before dipping into chocolate, and some fell apart during this process. I definitely recommend freezing overnight as most reviewers suggested. I will definitely do this next time, and yes, there will be a next time!

Pecan Pie Bars I

Made w/ brown sugar instead of white sugar and cut the recipe in half (using an 8X8 pyrex dish). Also baked 35 minutes instead of what it called for. Oh YUM!

I usually don't like cake mixes (I am a baking-from scratch snob) but these are delicious! Used a triple fudge super moist duncan hines mix with chocolate-mint chips. 5 stars!

Karen A's Chocolate Dump Cake

This recipe is very good! I made it exactly as written, with no changes. It turned out moist and very chocolatey! I will be making this again, next time w/ yellow cake mix, butterscotch pudding, and butterscotch chips. YUM!

Garlic Cheese Biscuits

Oh wow! These were good. The only change I made was doubling the cheese. I didn't have any problems with them sticking to the pan, but used lots of Pam spray. Will make again.

Warning: do not make this recipe unless you are prepared to eat the entire thing by yourself!!! It is delicious! I did not make any changes except to sub butterscotch chips for chocolate ones, and mix them into the batter. YUM!

Portobello Penne Pasta Casserole

The dish lookd great while cooking and my husband and I thought it would taste as good, but the soy sauce really turned us off. I think I would make again without the soy sauce, it just overpowered the whole dish.

Corn Dog Casserole

My husband did not like this at all. I thought it was just ok. I made it exactly, even down to the sage, and it turned out a little dry. I will not be making this again; too many other 5-star recipes out there!!!
