Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
Since I used this recipe I will never make turkey any other way! I always get raves about how tender and juicy it is! When I find myself without bouillion, I use a packet of Lipton's onion soup mix in the water and it still comes out great.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2011
These are great! I've made them a couple times now. My experience is that there is a definite difference in texture when you melt the butter in the saucepan instead of just softening in the microwave. Melting it in the saucepan and following the directions exactly makes for a dense fudgy brownie. Just softening in the microwave and adding the ingredients made for a more cakelike brownie. Both very good, though!

Fruit Pizza II

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
I have made this recipe as is over and over. It's a stunner and people really get excited when they find out it tastes as good as it looks! My mom requested I make this for her birthday and she never asks for anything, very high praise indeed!

Barbie's Tuna Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
This is a great recipe! I used two 5 ounce cans of tuna, and a little less mayo. Next time I will also cut back on the dill a little bit.

By far the best stuffed mushrooms I have ever had. I loved the kick from the cayenne pepper! It was hard to stop eating them!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
Wow. We love this recipe! I took the lazy way out and used a can of white meat chicken instead. Didn't have celery seed so I used celery salt and decreased the amount of plain salt. I also added a diced potato to the vegetables. What a way to kick off fall! Will make this again and again!

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2006
This makes a great pie! I left it in the oven an extra 30 minutes because it didn't seem like it was setting up. Finally I took it out (even though it still looked really jiggly in the middle), I didn't want to ruin it! I guess it still wasn't long enough because the center fell. It tasted "done", though, and was delicious to boot. My husband loved the streusel topping. I will definitely make this again!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2006
I thought this recipe was really tasty. When my husband took his first couple bites, he said simply, "Wow!". Later I heard him bragging on the phone to his mother about how I made them! The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the batter was very thick and I had to add quite a bit of milk to thin it out which may have sacrificed some of the texture. But, I would still make these again!

Sunday Surprise

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2006
Didn't like this. It was edible, but I won't make it again. Chinese five spice with cheese and bread didn't seem right, but since it got good reviews I tried it anyway. Oh well.

Coconut Curry Tofu

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2006
This is a FANTASTIC recipe! I don't order curry at restaurants because they usually add too much curry spice. But this recipe strikes the perfect balance. It was also easy to make with minimal cleanup. This is now my favorite meal, my husband liked it too!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
We don't eat many cookies in my house so I halved the recipe. They didn't really flatten out much but tasted good. The second batch I made was still half the recipe so I used a fork to imprint the tops and push them down before baking. They still tasted great of course, and looked more like a snickerdoodle that time.

Chicken Stroganoff I

This was REALLY good. My husband was very impressed. A little on the salty side, though. I may try it with 1/2 the dry onion soup mix next time.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
WOW! I LOVE this icing! I used a squeeze bottle to decorate my sugar cookies with the icing and made a thicker consistency for the details that went on top. Everyone said the cookies were the best they had EVER tasted. I think it's because of the almond flavoring. I won't ever use another sugar cookie icing recipe! EVER!
