Cranberry Martini

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Very similar to a Cosmo. We enjoyed it. I added 3 ounces of juice and added a bit more alcohol than stated just to make up for the extra juice. It was tasty, refreshing, but potent.

Garlicky Appetizer Shrimp Scampi

It was cold and pouring rain outside so I cooked them on the stove for a few minutes. They were tasty and wonderful. I would definitely make this again.

Mediterranean Summer Tomatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2006
Perfect side dish instead of a salad. I also had two warm multigrain baguettes that we enjoyed dipping in the dressing. Yum! I also added fresh garden cucumber slices around the serving tray and it just added to the presentation and tastiness.

Absolutely the best Pecan Pie I have ever had. I followed the instructions exactly as written. It was perfectly cooked for me.

Onion Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2006
I went out and bought the Calrose rice specifically to make this recipe. Although I enjoyed the flavour of this rice I was not a fan of the risotto-style texture. Anybody want my leftover bag?

Slow Cooker Chili II

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
Enjoyed this very much. I used one can of mixed beans and one can of black beans because that is what I had. I used a large can of diced tomatoes and one 5 oz can of tomato paste instead of the two cans of tomato puree. I rinsed my beans before adding them because I heard others say that it was soupy and I prefer a thicker chili.

Pasta Primavera with Smoked Gouda

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
This was good, but considering I spent $8.00 on smoked gouda...it would have had to be extra special for me to make it again. Nothing out of this world...just...good.

Too rich for me, but my family loved it! I doubled the recipe and it went very well.

Carol's Cinnamon Waffles

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2012
For some reason they would stick in the waffle maker...I did use less oil and less sugar. I do not know if this affected the mixture. All I can say is that they tasted great, but the fact that I had so much trouble with them sticking even if I used cooking spray, kind of turned me off.

Stir-Fried Vegetables with Chicken or Pork

Reviewed: May 5, 2012
Very good recipe. You can play with it quite a bit. I found the meat lacked a bit of flavour (I used pork). The vegetables were delicious! Nice light dinner.

Sunday Company Chicken

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
Used 15% cream and 4 bone-in chicken breasts. I browned the chicken slightly. I baked for 1 hour. It was good for a once-in-a-while type of recipe

Spicy Red Snapper

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2006
We loved this recipe. It wasn't too spicy, it was just right. I served it with broccoli, pasta and a salad for a nice light dinner. The fish had a wonderful texture. I think I will follow another reviewer's advice and add a bit of tomato paste to thicken the sauce or perhaps just omit the wine.

Green Chile Beef Tacos

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2012
You can play around with this quite a bit. I added a can of green chilis. I enjoyed my tortillas filled with this mixture and also had them in lettuce leaves. Tasty change from ground beef.

Roasted Rack of Lamb

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
OH MY GOODNESS!! This was the first time I have ever made Rack of lamb...it melted in our mouths. I had two racks of about 8 or 9 bones. I doubled the recipe. It was out-of-this-world good. I served with baby potatoes and broccoli. I will definitely make this again.

Triple Berry Crisp

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
First of all I halved the recipe for an 8 x 10 pan. We loved my "doctored" version. I used strawberries instead of blackberries. I did not add sugar to my wonderful fresh juicy fruit. I only used 1/4 cup of butter and half the brown sugar in the crumble. It turned out delicious. I will definitely make again.

Awesome Spicy Beef Kabobs OR Haitian Voodoo Sticks

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2011
This recipe packs some heat. I was quite surprised. I used filet mignon cubes so of course they were super tender, but I may tame it down to 1 or 1.5 teaspoons of the cayenne pepper. Everyone loved it though...except for my daughter who does not like spicy food.

Followed the recipe exactly as written. I enjoyed it as well as my husband, however my son pretty much said don't add it to your recipe book...I will add it, but will only make it when we are just the two of us...

These are so easy to make and cook and I loved the taste and texture. I will reduce the amount of sugar next time, but other than that, they were perfect.
