My cooking tragedies
I was making my wonderful mashed potatoes and had run out of milk. I didn't want to use buttermilk so I decided to use plain soy milk. No harm right...well it helps not to cook when you are tired and to always double check the ingredients you are using. We put the food on the table and begin to eat. My son put a big spoonful of potatoes in his mouth, then, this look came over his face. He asked, "Mom what kind of potatoes are these?" I was offended since this was my 100th time making the potatoes. I told him stop being smart and eat. Well I put a fork full of potatoes in my mouth and the same look came over my face. I immediately started laughing and apologize to my son for snapping at him. Turns out, I used vanilla soy milk instead of plain. So we were eating baked chicken, string beans and moms famous vanilla mashed potatoes. YUCK!

Mom's Best Macaroni Salad
I mostly hate macaroni salad. This recipe made me fall in love again. I took some of the other advice about reducing the amount of sugar. Still was great. I say play around with the ingredient amounts and make this Keeper Recipe!

Cabbage Roll Casserole
I made this dish Sunday night and it was a hit. I didn't have ground beef so I used mild italian sausage which was a really good choice. I only used 1 cup of beef broth, a good amount of italian seasonings....it was goood....we had enough for several days. Oh, my side dish was yams...AWESOME!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast
This was great. I used one can of golden mushroom soup and one can of garlic mushroom a little red wine and the roast was great. I also took the advice of one reviewer and floured and browned the roast before cooking. Awesome!
