This pie was an enormous hit at our church luncheon. Mine was the only dessert completely eaten. Victory! Love it. Thank you so much.

Slow Cooker Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
I have made this twice in the crock pot, and it turned out spendidly both times. I actually doubled the recipe because I was feeding a crowd, and it worked fine. Everyone wanted the recipe. Excellent dish. Thank you so much. Oh, and don't forget the vanilla ice cream on top. So good.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
This stuff is great. I have made it twice, and both times the people absolutely raved about it. Planning another get together soon, and will serve this chili. The only change I had to make was to use canned chilis since I couldn't find fresh ones. It was yummy.

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
So far, I have made this recipe twice. The first time was exactly as written. Yummy. Very yummy. Creamy and delicious. The cracker crumb topping makes this dish. So good. The second time, I made a few changes. First, I used rotisserie chicken from the supermarket. Secondly, I cooked some finely chopped carrot, onion, and celery in some chicken broth. When it was ready, I added some water and tossed in the noodles to cook. I also added some leftover cooked broccoli. The last addition was to put some cubed Velveeta on top of the dish before I added the topping. Delish. This is a five-star casserole however you make it.

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
This stuff is really good. I made it exactly by the recipe, but next time I think I'll add green peas and use Velveeta instead of cheddar. Mushroom soup would also be great. This casserole is simple, easy, and fast.

Butter Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
I wish that knew how you folks got this sticky dough to work in the cookie press. I had to keep putting the dough in the fridge and the cookie press in the freezer so that it would actually make cookies. Sometimes the dough was so soft it would just come out in blobs. Other times, the cookies were lovely. And, no, it wasn't my cookie press. It worked beautifully with all the other recipes I tried. Be that as it may, the cookies taste wonderful. The orange flavor is so refreshing. I even put orange food coloring in mine and topped them with chopped pecans. Yummy.

Butter Rich Spritz Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
These cookies are great. They're delicate and flaky, unlike the recipe that came with the cookie press. Those cookies were beautiful to look at but hard like rocks. These cookies are wonderful. I love, love, love the almond flavor, but I don't think it was strong enough. I'd like to actually put more of it in. I made a second batch and used pineapple flavor and yellow food color. Awesome. I'm going to use this recipe to experiment with all kinds of flavorings and colors. Thanks so much for this wonderful recipe.

Neapolitan Cookies I

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2006
Fabulous cookies!!! They have wonderful texture and a really delicious flavor. And they weren't hard to make at all. A few extra dishes don't matter. I left mine in the fridge overnight, too, and they were a bit hard to get out of the pan. But I ran a bit of warm water over the bottom of the pan, and they popped right out. Very impressive cookie. I will make these many times. Yummy.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

I guess you folks made much larger cookies than I did, because I got almost three dozen wonderful cookies out of this recipe. Simply delicious. You must try these. Perfection.

Urban Legend Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
These must be tasted to be believed!!! I didn't believe any cookie could be this good!! I made the recipe exactly as it was written, and I baked them for exactly 8 minutes. They came out of the oven very soft, but hey firmed up nicely as they cooled. The dough was very thick, and I had to mix in the chips, the grated chocolate, and the nuts with my hands. Then I shaped the dough into nice round balls and placed them on the sheet. They backed beautifully. Wonderful!! Like music for your mouth!!

Drop Nut Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2006
Absolutely wonderful!! I made this recipe exactly as written. Exactly 12 minutes in the oven is perfect. I followed the sour milk/vinegar tip also. The cookies were light and flaky and delicious. After baking the first few pans, I started rolling the dough into balls instead of dropping it on the pan. It worked fine both ways. The recipe made three dozen cookies -- twice as many as listed. Try these. You surely will love them.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2006
When I try a new recipe, I like to make it exactly by the directions. And that's what I did with this wonderful lasagna. It was fantastic. It wasn't too sweet, and it wasn't too spicy. It was exactly right. When I make it the next time, I think I'll used shredded mozzarella instead of sliced. Thank you, John, for sharing this truly wonderful recipe with us. Update: I made this recipe again this weekend and used the shredded cheese. Much easier but the same ingredients. I prepared a double batch for a group of college guys who came to my church to give a concert. They raved and raved. Some even asked for the recipe, and I told them where to find it. :-) One of the young men said it was so good he almost cried!
