Beer Batter Waffles

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
Made these as directed. Mine were not crisp but very limp. There was a slight aftertaste. I added more honey and it improved the flavor a bit. I won't make these again

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
These really are great pancakes. I make a 1/2 recipe (using 1 egg--a full recipe makes a large batch!). I made them exactly as written (when I did make a full recipe) and the batter was very thick. After a couple of very thick pancakes..(hence the 4 star instead of 5 star rating).I added more milk. This is just my personal preference. I double the milk when I make them now. They are great!

Dutch Babies II

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2010
I made these exactly as written, but didn't have a cast iron pan so used a 10" pie plate. These were good...easy to make. Tasted like a cross between a pancake a crepe. I did warm up the milk for 30 sec in microwave and warmed eggs in hot water for 1 min. It fluffed up beautifully in the oven. I baked it for 12 min. Easier to make than pancakes, but one would have to do this a few times for a crowd.

Spring Cleaning Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
To me this is a glorified chocolate chip cookie. The texture is great and very tasty. Not something I would make instead of chocolate chip cookies all of the time, but a nice change.

Sue's Hot Fudge Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
First, I halved the recipe to make sure I'd like it. Made it exactly as written. It was too sweet for me so I added 2 more T of cocoa and 1/4 t of salt. That made it more to my liking. Next time I will try with only 1 C sugar (remember I halved the recipe). It was good. "Halving' the recipe made the sauce fit nicely into a 16 oz glass jar of the brand name hot fudge I usually buy. I would make this again and continue to tweak it with my preferences. Overall...good recipe to start with.

Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip II

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
This was excellent. I didn't add the garlic salt thinking it would be too garlic-y, but it wasn't. I may try addiing it next time just to compare.

Cheddar Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2007
Didn't have cheddar cheese so I used colbyjack....turned out great!! Good flavor....not overbearing. I did only use 1/2 t of garlic salt in the marg mixture. I added parsley, marg, and garlic salt together to baste on buscuits. Baking time was perfect. Forgot to ALSO mention that I made my own baking mix from the recipe on this site. Excellent!

Green Bean and Portobello Mushroom Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
The portobello mushrooms came in a 14 oz package containing 3 large mushrooms. I used one of them...the rest of them would have been TOO much mushroom. Good recipe....but didn't "wow" me. Probably won't make it again but it was nice for Thanksgiving meal==something a little different.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
I used Craisins as another reviewer had done. This was good but I think I'd leave out craisins/cranberries or else put a very small amount it--just my personal preference. I didn't care for the sweetness combined with the rest of the ingredients.

Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
I chopped up raw chicken and it cooked nicely. Nice option for using leftover chicken too. I used low salt chicken broth since I didn't have the cubes. Good flavor with the spices. Have made this twice!

Dried Beef Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
This was excellent. Yes, you need to rinse the salt off of the dried beef first. On my container of dried beef, it states that this should be done when adding to a recipe. I will make this again!

Caramel Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2006
I was really looking forward to this recipe. I LOVE pecan pie and caramel but I thought this recipe was just "ok". I just didn't think the flavor was that wonderful. I brought it to Christmas dinner. Only one other person (out of 18 people) had a slice and chose the other desserts available. I would rather have the taste and texture of a tradional pecan pie and drizzle caramel on top. I'm deleting this from my recipe box.

Baked Omelet Roll

Reviewed: May 7, 2006
Very good recipe. I used 1/3 C flour. I added 4 slices of thinly sliced deli ham and 2 sliced fresh mushrooms before I put it in the oven. It baked perfectly at 12 minutes. I sprinkled shredded colby jack cheese when it came out. I had to loosen the edges a bit and had to use two flipping utensils to roll it. I had sprayed the glass pan with non stick spray so it wasn't too much trouble. I also cut two squares of American cheese on a diagnal to make triangles and put those on top of the roll for a bit more cheese and a little decoration. Easy and quick to make and cook.

Cheesiest Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2006
This soup is absolutely WONDERFUL! I made it two days in a row. I followed the recipe exactly the first time. Very good flavor. The 2nd time I used evaporated milk. Still tasted great although not as rich as with the heavy cream (of course). Will definitely make this again...and again!
