Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2013
This was good, but nothing special. I do not think the root beer added anything. All I could taste is the barbq sauce on the pork. Could hardly taste the pork at all. I used Sweet Baby Rays. The sauce should be diluted some. Maybe add a half bottle along with the root beer when cooking it. I am an expert cooking teacher and have taught cooking for 20 years

Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Marsala Sauce

Reviewed: May 3, 2012
THIS IS AN EXELLENT AND EASY RECIPE. HUBS LOVED IT AND IT COULD BE SERVED TO COMPANY. THE ONLY THING I CHANGED WAS THE COOKING TIME. BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVERCOOK. I USED A THERMOMETER AND TOOK IT OUT AT 145 AND LET IT SIT FOR 5 MINUTES FOR PINK IN THE MIDDLE. THIS TOOK ABOUT 20 MINUTES ALLTOGETHER. IT ALSO DEPENDS HOW THICK YOUR TENDERLOIN IS. ENJOY !

Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
THIS IS A GREAT RECIPE, BUT YOU NEED TO CUT THE AMOUNT OF RAISINS, OR IT COMES OUT LIKE RAISIN BREAD AND IS TOO SWEET. I USED 2 CUPS, BUT WILL USE 1 1/2 CUPS NEXT TIME. I ALSO CUT BACK SOME ON THE CARAWAY. OTHERWISE IT IS MOIST AND BEAUTIFUL. TRY IT !

Precious Pineapple Cake

Reviewed: May 8, 2011
THIS IS A GOOD, QUICK CAKE. I USED THE EXTRA EGG AND I THINK IT HELPED KEEP THE CAKE FROM CRUMBLING MUCH. I ONLY SPRINKLED TOASTED PECANS ON TOP OF FROSTING. I ONLY NEEDED 3 CUPS SUGAR FOR THE FROSTING. I ALSO BAKED IT IN A 13X9 GLASS BAKING DISH. USED BUTTER INSTEAD OF MARGARINE. I WILL MAKE THIS AGAIN.

Slow Cooker Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
THIS IS GREAT WITH THESE 2 SMALL CHANGES. FIRST CUT YOUR APPLES INTO LARGE CHUNKS, AND USE GRANNY SMITH. AND 2ND, STIR 1 CUP QUICK COOKING OATS INTO THE CRUMB TOPPING. I COOKED MINE 2 HOURS ON HIGH, THEN PARTIALLY UNCOVERED THE COOKER AND COOKED ABOUT 1/2 HOUR LONGER TO CRISP UP.

Slow Cooker Tapioca Pudding

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
Great and easy recipe. Comes out just right. I added 1 tsp. vanilla at end of cooking and topped with whipped cream and a dash of nutmeg. Mine was done about 1 hr. early, so check it. It is very important to stir often, especially at the last part of cooking time. You will love this !!

Baked Zucchini Squares

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
THIS RECIPE WAS JUST OK. I CUT THE OIL TO 1/3 CUP PER SUGGESTIONS THAT THE DISH WAS TOO OILY, AND ADDED 1/2 CUP CHEDDAR CHEESE. IT CAME OUT A LITTLE THIN AND DRY. MAYBE MY BISQUICK WAS OLD ?? TOOK TO A PARTY, AND THERE WAS NOT MUCH INTEREST.

MY SCONES CAME OUT DRY AND CRUMBLY. IT MAY BE BECAUSE MY BAKING POWDER WAS OLD. I WILL TRY AGAIN WITH FRESH BAKING POWDER.

Stuffed Artichoke Hearts

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2010
First of all, the recipe should be called stuffed artichoke BOTTOMS as asked for in the ingredients. Big difference. I am an expert chef and this is a wonderful appetizer, with these changes. I put 1/4 cup of the Parmesan in the cream cheese mixture and added 1/4 tsp. garlic powder to the mixture and 1/2 tsp. Laurie's lemon pepper to the mixture also. So I did not need to sprinkle the artichokes with garlic or pepper. Also only dipped the bottoms of the artichokes in butter and that was plenty ! Also I baked at 350 for about 30 minutes. I got rave reviews at my dinner party. You must try this.

Tiramisu Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2009
This is a great recipe. But after reading reviews that mostly complained of bland filling, I made it perfect and really taste like tiramisu, I added to the filling: 5 T. Kahlua, 1 T. brandy, 1 T. rum and 1 t. instant expresso powder. I topped it with whipped cream and sprinkled a mixture of grated chocolate and unsweetened cocoa on top. I also doubled the Kahlua in the crust. Fabulous !

VERY GOOD. I REALLY LIKED THE SAUCE. I ADDED A LITTLE MORE LEMON JUICE. ALSO I THINK IF YOU COOK IT AT 325, YOU WILL NEED TO GIVE IT 25-30 MIN. TO BE SURE IT IS COOKED. I MIGHT DO IT AT 350 NEXT TIME.
