About this Cook
I am a wife, mom, Web Developer/Systems Analyst, and community volunteer. Growing up, my family always loved to cook. Today, my immediate family is all vegetarians (although we do eat fish once in awhile). My brother is a professional chef. All my friends tell me I should be a professional chef but I don't want to work the 80-100 hours a week! My best friend and I are called the Dining Divas. We do appetizer parties to raise money for local charities. Cooking for friends and family brings me great joy.
My favorite things to cook
Anything but meat! I love trying new things. I am always experimenting.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is Irish and Italian. I get my appreciation of food and ability to cook on the Italian side and my love of good times and drink from the Irish side. We love to cook all kinds of food. Since all of us cook well, more often than not there is way to much food as everyone has to make something!
My cooking triumphs
I wish I could learn to package my vegetarian creations. I make some really amazing things that would sell like hotcakes in the store - spinach balls, vegetarian chicken pot pie, tofu parmesan, artichokes francaise, etc. Most people say whatever I bring or make is the best they have ever had.
My cooking tragedies
I like to experiment....I used left over sour cream vegetable dip and mixed it in with rotini. My husband will never let me live it down. Do not try this at home - Yuck!

Banana Crepes
Made this for breakfast this morning. I added a 1/4 tsp of cayenne pepper. I like the sweet and spicy taste. Talk about yummy!!! Next time I will serve as dessert with a scoop of ice cream on the top. The only reason I did not give it a 5 is that it's really not healthy. I may work on making this healthier.

Spicy Vegan Potato Curry
Just made this recipe today to include in my Indian themed dinner (also making saag paneer, coconut curry cabbage, "red" onion chutney and papadum, basmati rice and potato pea samosas) The combination of ingredients make the most wonderful sauce. Next time, I will add mixed veggies instead of just peas. Also, I use frozen instead of canned as they are a better consistency.

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats
Great recipe. Dogs love it and it is so much more healthy than store bought dog treats. I took suggestion from others and added more pumpkin, more peanut butter and 1 cup of oats. I used a cookie scoop on a greased cookie sheet.
