About this Cook
I'm 22 years old and a recent graduate of the University of Washington. I work as a waitress/bartender and as a tutor for the Law School Admissions Test. I am trying to enjoy my free time as much as possible before attending law school next fall.
My favorite things to cook
soups, crab cakes, kebabs, fish tacos, blueberry crisp, brownies from scratch, homemade macaroni and cheese, rissoto, simple and delicious salads, lasagna, fajitas, cookies, curries and other Indian cuisine
My favorite family cooking traditions
baking cookies with my sister and mom, preparing dinner for my parents on mother's day and father's day, entertaining family and friends with my cooking
My cooking triumphs
After countless test batches, I believe I have finally perfected my personal chocolate chip cookie recipe. It never fails!
My cooking tragedies
I always seem to burn garlic bread in the oven. My family will be sitting down to begin eating dinner and I'll jump up and run to the oven to find the bread a bit more toasted than I had intended.

Bean Soup With Kale
I love this soup. It is so healthy and flavorful. Kale might discourage some from making this, but I assure you that you'll be glad if you do. Kale is a popular staple at local farmer's markets here in Seattle. It is full of fiber and nutrients. I top this soup with parmesan cheese and sometimes add an extra can of mashed canellini beans for extra creaminess. Thanks for a great recipe!

Pesto Cheesy Chicken Rolls
I was in a hurry to make dinner for my pesto-loving boyfriend so I chose not to stuff the chicken with the pesto and cheese. Instead, I seasoned chicken breasts with garlic salt, pepper, and oregano and seared them in a grill pan. After browning both sides, I placed the breasts in a baking dish and topped each with pesto sauce. In the final minutes of baking, I placed thick slices of mozzarella on each chicken breast and put my oven on broil to melt the cheese. I served this with a side of linguine and steamed broccoli. Fast, simple, and delicious. My boyrfriend gave it two thumbs up!

Avocado Soup with Chicken and Lime
A fantastic soup! I chose not to bake the corn tortilla strips for a garnish and used the crush corn tortilla chips that I had on hand instead. They worked just fine. I only used two jalapenos and three cloves of garlic. Eight cloves seemed like a bit too many and I don't prefer my dishes to be overly spicy. I also added some cumin to the soup as the chicken cooked. Instead of fresh tomato, I used a can of Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilis. My boyrfriend and I (both mexican food enthusiasts) really enjoyed this soup.
