Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2006
My kids loved it! The gravy is absolutely delicious! Didn't have sherry so put a bit of sake instead.

Beef with Green Onion

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2006
Overall, a very easy and good basic stir-fry recipe. I added 1T soysauce and 3T water (I don't like thick cornstarchy sauce base, I prefer mine thinner). Green onions were a bit over cooked for my taste so next time I'll throw them in at the last minute or two.

Lebanese Chicken and Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2006
Very simple and pure dish. Excellent! This is not another one of those boring recipes that calls for tons of cheese and canned creamy soups for flavor. I will make this weekly. Thanks! :)

Asian Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2006
I have mixed feelings for this recipe - my boyfriend adores it but only after I altered it quite a bit. Original recipe has too much oil and not enough vinegar. I also doctored it up with pepper and salt. My kids thought it was so-so.

Caesar Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2006
Since this was so highly rated, I expected alot. It tastes good but you can't eat but a tiny bowl - the taste is too overpowering - too creamy, RICH and garlicky and I made it with lite mayo. If you like creamy, cheesy, rich dishes then you will like this. Otherwise, stick to more of a traditonal caesar recipe. Tried it with regular mayo too, and it's way too rich. I will probably only make it on occasion for a potluck. It will not be regular for me.

Chicken Pasta I

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2006
This is one of those basic, versatile recipes you can add or subtract ingredients to your taste. It's a great way to use up all your leftovers. I used left over chicken and leftover veggies I had on had (bell peppers and broccoli). Thanks, I'll be making this often :)

Lebanese Garlic Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2006
I love all lebanese foods and I love anything with garlic so for me this was out of this world. This is very garlicky so you can tone it down to your taste to maybe 4 small bulbs. Like previous reviewers, I cut down on the oil a bit.

Thighs on Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2006
This is probably a decent recipe. Just don't do what I did. I didn't have thighs so I used drumsticks - not right for this dish. I used asian sticky rice which is a no no - takes way too long to cook and comes out too gooey. I still gave it a 4 star because it does have good flavor and very quick to make.

This is really easy to make and pretty good. A little bit too much potatoes maybe. Everyone liked it a lot.

This low fat version actually tastes better than regular alfredo. I added some broccoli and it was yummy!

I prefer this dish with a little less chili powder and smaller pieces of chicken but overall, very quick and delicious. This will be a regular for my family.

Eggy Veggie Bake

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2006
This is a delicious, versatile recipe. First time, I followed recipe exactly. Since then, I've altered it to use all my left overs - cabbage, broccoli, carrots and bell peppers. You just can't go wrong with this. What I love about this is, it doesn't rely on heavy meats and cheeses for flavor. Combo of lemon juice and Worchestire sauce is very savory. Great job!

I agree with everyone. The most moist and best chicken recipe. Weirdly, it tastes rich and lite at the same time but simply delicious!

Every cook's must have recipe. Makes life a lot easier. I make this for my alfredo sauces, enchilladas and other pasta sauces. Don't throw away the broth. It's yummy too with a little salt.

Seafood And Cabbage Salad

This is just absolutely wonderful! Kids were so so about it but that's ok. I kept on eating and ate it all by myself! Tastes even better after it's been sitting for a while and all the flavors settle.

Tuna Piccata Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
This is a healthy, economical, tasty dish with lots of zip and versatility. It's great as is or as the other reviewers suggest, you can use this as a base and add whatever you like. I added white beans for fiber, corn for color and tofu cutlets for even more protein. It all worked nicely. Just make sure to make more sauce if you add more igredients.

Russian Green Bean and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2010
Stir flour into sour cream WELL. I didn't mix mine enough and when I stirred the cream/flour mix into the soup, it lumped up and so I had to scoop out the lumps and mash them through a sieve. My son thought it was missing something so I followed the suggestion of a reviewer and chopped kielbasa into his and he loved it. Go easy on the kraut juice as this may make it too salty/sour. Also, the dill looks pretty but my boys don't like it at all so replaced that with green onion. Overall very tasty with strong sour/salty flavors which I love but may not be for everyone.

Abalos-Style Hamburger Soup (Picadillo Filipino)

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2011
I gave this a 5 star for its simplicity and ease. It's also different from the other stews because of the addition of the fish sauce. It gives it a bolder flavor. Be careful with it though...if you're not used to it, it might be a bit much. So cut it down to just about 1 tbsp. It is definitely meant to be eaten with rice. And don't use ground beef with more than 15% fat otherwise it'll be too greasy. Thank you for the recipe. My boys loved it!
