Reviewed: May 6, 2006
MMM...very good and very easy. I didn't have buttermilk so I used milk and 1 tbsp. vinager. Nice flavour....served warm with lots of butter and syrup.

Chocolate Waffle Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2006
I was so excited for these, but they let me down. They had a very boring flavour once cooked. I ate them warm, but as they cooled they did get a little better. Won't make these again.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
I really liked this. It was so easy, and so tasty. A nice breakfast treat, as it is crunchy and sweet. Will make again.

Cornmeal Strawberry Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
Mmm...this was very good, but I love the texture that cornmeal gives in cakes. Not as moist as most cakes either. Worth a try.

Puff Pastry Cinnamon Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2006
This was ok, not great-isn't a danish or a cinnamon roll, and the result is tasty, with cream cheese icing, but nothing special, or to be made again.

Peanut Butter Brownies I

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2006
These were ok, but nothing too special. I added choco chips instead of peanuts, which I think helps the sweetness and the flavour. Won't be making them again though.

Filled Strawberry Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2006
I was so excited to make this bread, and delighted to eat it. I used fresh strawberries in the bread, and also just added some finely chopped berries to light cream cheese and it worked very well....not runny at all. My one concern when making the bread was the large amount of oil, however it does seem to work well, but takes a long time to make sure it is not to doughy in the centre when finished baking. I really liked this....definitely a keeper.

Chicken Korma II

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2006
I was not...as was my family were not fans of this. It seems to be missing a 'kick'. The texture was a little off as well. We are not big Indian food fans and maybe this dish just helped to prove that fact.

Double Chocolate Mint Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2006
These were much better than I thought...very tasty, perfect combo of chocolate and mint. They are crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle. I didn't give them 5 stars just because I had a lot of trouble keeping the bottoms from burning, while insuring they weren't completely doughy in the middle. Yummy!

Pralines

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2006
These were fairly good, but not exceptional. I did not use a candy thermometer and I'm sure they'd be a bit better using one, as I didn't understand the pouring into water thing. I would also add more pecans next time as I love them.

Scones

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2006
I wish I could give this a higher rating but it is not what I expected. They are very good...but very cake like. They were fairly basic to prepare however not the scone I was expecting. I added chocolate chips to half, and without them it was very plain. Not bad, not great.

Cinnamon Sugar Biscotti

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2006
This was pretty good...not the best biscotti, however it had a very nice colour, cooked easily, and had a nice crunchy biscotti texture. I would probably make this again, however it was nothing spectacular.

Brownie Biscotti

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2006
This was an ok recipe but the cooking times were very off for me. It has a lot of potential but really need to watch to make sure the bottoms done burn etc. Will not try again...sorry

Gooey Brownies with Shortbread Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2006
I was so excited to make these, however they were a huge let down. The shortbread crust was far too floury (use a different shortbread crust for sure) and the actual brownie layer was a nice gooey texture but bad flavour. I added a little more cocoa, however I could still taste the condensed milk. I will not make these again-big let down....sorry

Baker's Secret Pie Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2006
This is truly a good crust! I used it to make pecan pie, and it was delicious. I used a pastry cutter instead of the processor though, and it was simple, came together nicely, and easy to roll! Thank you!

Stuffed Eggplant

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2006
I love eggplant, but this was not one of my favourites. It has a lot of potential....I would almost completely omitt the bread crumbs as it was far too dry, which caused me to add way more oil, and more calories....suggest just not putting in any bread crumbs and it should be great...also use spicy sausage for more flavour!
