About this Cook
I didn't really start cooking until we renovated our kitchen. Then, all of a sudden, all I wanted to do was be in the kitchen. I am the kind of cook that makes things up as I go. I usually don't measure...Which makes it REALLY hard to re-create the good recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Chicken - you can add almost any flavor to chicken and it will still be good. You just have to make sure you add "enough" seasoning so it's not too bland. Pasta - I love creating sauces.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Spagetti Sauce. It's my grandma's recipe - updated.

Buffalo Chicken Dip
This is a standing request when we have a party and I have to make a dish...I use Footy's Wing sauce (may only be available at Publix in South FL or FL) and like others, I use half ranch and half blue cheese dressings, both Marie's. I heat it on the stove and then throw it into the slow cooker to stay warm. I put a layer of shredded cheddar on top - just for fun. We like it best with Frito's scoops, but any chip or cracker will do.

Elbows and Ground Beef
This was really good, but I only gave it 4 stars here, because I changed it up a bit...Insteady of tomato sauce, I used a jar of salsa. Also, cut down on the onion and used red peper instead of green pepper. And, threw some cheddar cheese on top right before serving. It was YUMMY!!!

Double Layer Pumpkin Pie
My family, who "does not like pumpkin pie", LOVES this recipe. I just made a couple of changes...I used a full 8oz bar of 1/3 fat cream cheese. I added about a tsp of Vanilla and a little extra sugar to the cream cheese/cool whip mixture. I used all spice and ginger for the spices in the pumpkin mixture. Additionally, I added 2 "globs" of cool whip to the pumpkin mixture. It makes it alot fluffier and a little sweeter.
