Beef Bulgogi

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
This was delish but since I never had Korean food I can't compare it. Having said that..my second biggest issue was cutting the meat very thin. The only knife that worked in my kitchen was my Yoshi ceramic blade! (Yes, real people do buy those "as seen on t.v. things). My biggest issue was grilling those thin strips. That was not easy. I looked through alot of reviews and nobody really mentioned that. They have to be turned so fast and there's alot of slices! I lost a few soldiers in between the grates on the grill. :(. Of course, I also picked a day where it could NOT have been raining any harder so there we were under the golf umbrella, which added to the difficulty. It was a two person job as it was. Next time I will look for another cooking method, or make less. The perfect way would be on one of those professional frying surfaces but since I don't have that... maybe the George Forman? Also I would make more marinade and warm that up to put over the rice. The flavor was really good. TY TNCOUCH.

Caramel Butter Pecan Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2011
The most helpful advice is the aluminum foil in the pan. Definitely go with that. I left them on the counter for about 6 hours then refrigerated overnight. Easy to take out of the pan on the foil and cut. DO cut into bite size squares. These are SWEET, Magic Bar-ish. I used semi-sweet choc chips and glad I did. Milk Choc would have been over the top sweetness. They were refrigerated and I brought them to work at 8 am. By 2pm the caramel at room temp was oozing out and it became kind of messy.. and I had them cut in complete squares. If you're going to take them somewhere, make sure they're cold and will get eaten rather quickly. It made about 20 bite sized squares.

The absolute perfect side for almost anything. I left out the red pepper (personal taste). So easy.

Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake

Excellent. Made in a bundt pan. Doubled the topping, put first in pan, then half batter, rest of topping, rest of batter. I used Ghiardelli choc chips. Divine.

Not much to add to an excellent dish with over 2000 reviews. I did add nutmeg and doubled the topping. Will be on the Thanksgiving table. Thank you Diane!

Cindy's Jambalaya

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2010
Once again Cindy, spot on with the ingredients. For those of you who are as handicapped at measurements as me, 1 cup of chopped peppers equals 2 good sized peppers, the celery is 6 stalks. I hate chopping!! Took about a half hour to prepare the ingredients before starting to cook. However, very worth it. It is delish! One other thing, it is pricey. Went to the store for the ingredients for this only and spent $47.00. I had no ingredients on hand..none. Not even the cajun spice. Only chicken broth and thyme and salt. My bay leaves were ancient so I had to buy them too. But it was very good. Thanks Cindy!!! And if you haven't already..try her clam chowder!

Strip House Potatoes Romanoff | Williams-Sonoma

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
These were fantastic, although I would either completely omit or cut way down on the salt next time. I baked for 30 mins at 350 then broiled for 5 to brown the top. I used 4 somewhat large shallots. And one "brick" of white cheddar. (I could not find grated white cheddar here).

These are delish and perfect! I only got 12 which was fine. Used Milky Way Icing from this site and the amount of ingredients for both recipes were a perfect fit. Thanks Marianne!

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
These should be OUTLAWED!!! They are that good and you will eat them 5 at a time. My only tip is I used a 24 mini muffin pan. I used a teaspoon to drop batter into the cups. I scraped the bowl and had enough for 24. IMO the smaller the better. For some reason some cups overflowed (thought I had them even). The smaller ones were alot better. These are super fast and easy and uses ingredients on hand. Great recipe for kids learning how to bake. Thanks Dianne! (Although I think we may now have a love/hate relationship!)

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
Fantastic. Easy and quick. Changes? 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (personal taste); 1/2 tsp garlic powder (that's what I had; 1/2 tsp onion flakes instead of onion (personal taste). Personally, I think as long as you stay close to the original recipe, if not exactly, you'll like this as much as our house does. Really, really good. Thanks LTH! Antoher winner.

Chicken Savoy

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2010
I really liked this. Easy, peasy, put it all together and throw it in the oven. I did use red wine vinegar, and funnily enough I will try balsamic next time. I cooked for about 50 minutes, it was just about to burn. All ovens are different though. May wait about 15 mins to put cheese on next time. I used chicken breasts. Not sure I would like it on whole skinned chicken parts. The flavor would be on just the skin.

This is fabulous. Followed recipe exactly. Hard to add to the rave reviews, only I just want to say I christened my new KA with this and it was the first time I ever made bread. I hope it was a good luck charm for the KA!

Overnight Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
The only change I made was I used 1/2 tsp of nutmeg and only a third of the icing which was plenty. I also was a little concerned with some reviews about the topping which was not the consistency I was expecting. There's alot of brown sugar. I patted it down some into the batter. I guess because I did this, the topping around the edges of the cake "disappeared" into the cake. I guess that's why you should listen to the directions! Having said this, it is unbelievably moist and delicious and if you want to be the bell of the office, get up early and pop this in the oven!

Giving this 5 stars based on changes. Sorry. I added 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp garlic powder and 3 hard boiled eggs. Reduced sugar to 1/4 cup. Put two thirds dressing on. Refrigerated for about five hours then put the remaining dressing on. We loved it.

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
Very easy and very good. I had to add more milk, but other than that, stuck to the recipe exactly. There are so many reviews, the only helpful tip I can give is I used a tbsp of dough for each "ball" I rolled. It yielded EXACTLY 24 cookies. And the icing was EXACTLY enough. Not one drop more was left of either dough or icing. That kind of surprised me for some reason.

Milky Way® Cupcake Icing

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
This was very good, very sweet, but good. It is a must to let it come to room temp before attempting to ice the cake. (Trust me). It's also very thick and a little tricky to work with, but the end result is delish. Also, it took more like two minutes in the microwave, stirring frequently. This would be fabulous on Boston Cream Pie.
