Fantastic Mexican Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
This recipe was very good for this kind of dip. I've used many. I did several things different. I only used 1 lb of ground beef. I used salsa instead of taco sauce. I added a layer of guacomole over the sour cream/cream cheese layer. I left out the lettuce. I used olives sparingly as I find many people don't like them in this kind of dip. Another thing, this recipe makes a huge quantity. I used a pie plate. If you use as directed with the 2 lbs of meat, you will definitely need a bigger boat, as in a 13 x 9 inch dish. Also, you need a spoon and small plates for serving. You cannot "dip" chips into it. Having said all that, it was very good and I will make again for parties.

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
These should be OUTLAWED!!! They are that good and you will eat them 5 at a time. My only tip is I used a 24 mini muffin pan. I used a teaspoon to drop batter into the cups. I scraped the bowl and had enough for 24. IMO the smaller the better. For some reason some cups overflowed (thought I had them even). The smaller ones were alot better. These are super fast and easy and uses ingredients on hand. Great recipe for kids learning how to bake. Thanks Dianne! (Although I think we may now have a love/hate relationship!)

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
Fantastic. Easy and quick. Changes? 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (personal taste); 1/2 tsp garlic powder (that's what I had; 1/2 tsp onion flakes instead of onion (personal taste). Personally, I think as long as you stay close to the original recipe, if not exactly, you'll like this as much as our house does. Really, really good. Thanks LTH! Antoher winner.

Chicken Savoy

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2010
I really liked this. Easy, peasy, put it all together and throw it in the oven. I did use red wine vinegar, and funnily enough I will try balsamic next time. I cooked for about 50 minutes, it was just about to burn. All ovens are different though. May wait about 15 mins to put cheese on next time. I used chicken breasts. Not sure I would like it on whole skinned chicken parts. The flavor would be on just the skin.

Mike's Signature Pretzel Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
This is fabulous. Followed recipe exactly. Hard to add to the rave reviews, only I just want to say I christened my new KA with this and it was the first time I ever made bread. I hope it was a good luck charm for the KA!

Overnight Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
The only change I made was I used 1/2 tsp of nutmeg and only a third of the icing which was plenty. I also was a little concerned with some reviews about the topping which was not the consistency I was expecting. There's alot of brown sugar. I patted it down some into the batter. I guess because I did this, the topping around the edges of the cake "disappeared" into the cake. I guess that's why you should listen to the directions! Having said this, it is unbelievably moist and delicious and if you want to be the bell of the office, get up early and pop this in the oven!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
Very easy and very good. I had to add more milk, but other than that, stuck to the recipe exactly. There are so many reviews, the only helpful tip I can give is I used a tbsp of dough for each "ball" I rolled. It yielded EXACTLY 24 cookies. And the icing was EXACTLY enough. Not one drop more was left of either dough or icing. That kind of surprised me for some reason.

Quick Brussels and Bacon

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
I thought these were a very tasty way of serving brussel sprouts. Who doesn't like bacon in anything? I used fresh sprouts. They usually come in a 10 oz. tub. I used 2 shallots (plenty) and 4 pieces of bacon. I boiled the sprouts before putting in the pan of bacon grease (no I did not use a second pan with olive oil). It was enough for four servings.

excellent! will cut the sugar in half next time though. I didn't have sesame seeds so omitted, but I think they woulld add to it. Update: I will never again make this with balsamic vinegar. I tried that and thought it way to overpowering. Use white vinegar and cut the sugar in half.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
I haven't rated these yet because I am a moron. I bought the refrigerated dough and used that. (Key word, refrigerated), and no, I forgot to freeze it. Next time I made them, I cut the dough up (out of the refrigerator) and then froze. Way better. They're excellent! And yes, the BEST. Thanks LTH!!

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

This is hands down the best coleslaw recipe. I used hellman's and just shy of the sugar amount. Absolutely fantastic. The best things about it is that it takes two minutes to put together (literally), it's cheap, and the result is, you've brought the best dish to the party! Thank you Sandi!

Loved this. Made exactly as written except made cream cheese mixture a day ahead. Let it get to room temp before serving. Used "scoops" for it. They were a bit fragile for it.
