Veggies with Creamy Chive and Onion Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2014
I absolutely love this recipe. I didn't have any carrots on hand, but it's the sauce that drives the bus on this dish. So easy and so yummy!

Easy Honey Mustard Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2013
I made this ham for Easter dinner. It sounded delicious, but it turned out quite disappointing. I used a picnic ham, as the recipe calls for. The honey mustard sauce was too bland for this type of ham. Perhaps if the recipe called for actual honey and mustard, it would have been more flavorful. I will definitely not be making this again.

Creamy Cauliflower Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2012
I love this salad. It's a nice change from the broccoli salad and cole slaw. I, too, made it lighter by using light mayo and splenda and leaving out the cheese. (Personal preference on the cheese...not a big fan.) I made up for using the lighter ingredients by using real bacon. I think the only thing I would do next time is add more bacon, tomatoes and eggs. It seemed a bit short on those ingredients.

Slow Cooker Green Beans, Ham and Potatoes

Reviewed: May 2, 2012
I was so excited to try this recipe. I love the ingredients and it has great reviews. I found this dish to be extremely bland. I will not make this again.

Ramen Coleslaw

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2012
I absolutely LOVED this recipe. I was leary of the amount of pepper suggested, but that extra little tang really lit up my taste buds. As other reviewers suggested, I toasted the ramen noodles with the almods (didn't have any sesame seeds on hand) and I think that made the salad even better...if that's possible! :-)

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
This "cake" is so delicious and so easy. I used one package of chocolate pudding and one package of vanilla pudding for variety. I quickly dunked the graham crakers in milk, and they weren't crunchy at all by the time the dessert was served. This is just so unique!!!!

Stuffed Kielbasa

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2011
I found this recipe to be seriously lacking in flavor. I was very surprised, based on the reviews. I will not make this again.

Slow Cooker Chili II

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2011
I love meals cooked in the slow cooker. This is a good baseline recipe, but I have to admit that I change it quite a bit for personal tastes. I can't believe this chili recipe doesn't call for Cumin. I add that, along with a red pepper for color and taste. I also add a lot more garlic and a lot more hot sauce, and left out the celery. I'm not a fan of cannellini beans, so I use black beans. It's so much better the second day.

Creamed Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2011
I am such a fan of cooked cabbage that I knew I had to try this recipe. I was so happy I did. I LOVE THIS SOUP!!!! The only thing I do differently is that i substitue the light cream with Simply Smart 1% milk (less calories). I have made this twice now and am ready to make a new batch!!! Thanks for the recipe Laurie Harms!!

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
I absolutely love this recipe. It could not be easier. I, too, add salt and pepper to the roast beforehand. I've also made it with a pork loin, but cut the cooking time down to 7 hours. For added flavor, I saute some mushrooms and add to the gravy. Thanks Kim for such an easy recipe that produces such great results!

Restaurant-Quality Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
OMG...What can I say? This soup is awesome!!! I even substituted the half-and-half with Simply Smart 1% milk and it came out great!. I like things a bit spicy so I increased the pepper amount and added hot sauce. To give it even more flavor, I used garlic instant potatoes instead of regular instant. This was so comforting with the cold temperatures on the east coast this winter. Thanks so much Marbalet!!!

Sherry Sour Cream Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
This chicken is YUMMY!! I'm a big fan of sherry, so it's only natural that I would love a recipe like this. I also add onion and sliced mushrooms to the pan before the sour cream and sherry. Thanks Charlene for a great recipe.

Cranberry Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
OMG..you can't find a simpler recipe. And....it's delicious!!!! I ended up using 12 ounces of jam (instead of 8 ounces). It was an oversight, but it worked out just fine. I might even try putting apricots in the mix next time. It started out as a dip, but my Thanksgiving host ended up putting it on the table for a side dish with dinner. YUMMY!!!

Pork Tenderloin with Creamy Herb Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
Wow...this is SO yummy. I took other reviewers' suggestion and cut the amount of basil in half. I also added fresh garlic and onions to the carrot mixture for extra flavor. Instead of using light cream, I used fat free sour cream. It gave it a creamy mixture with a bit more flavor. The pork was so tender you didn't even need a knife!

Bacon Wrapped Pork Medallions

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2010
I made this for a small family gathering...WHAT A HIT!!! I did what others suggested and completely omitted the salt. The bacon has enough salt for this recipe. I thought it might be easier to cut the porkinto mediallons first and then wrap, but that turned out to be a messy undertaking. Next time I will wrap the whole pork first and then cut. I served with mashed sweet potatotes and green beans sauted with garlic in a small amount of the bacon grease and garlic bread. The reactions to this meal made me feel like a rock star!!!

Jayme's Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2010
I love all cole slaw, but wanted to try something a bit different. I should have read the reviews before I made this. I agree with others...WAY, WAY too much vinegar and very soupy. I had to double the amount of cabbage and add more mayo. After that, it was just OK.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
The smell of this bread baking is worth 5 stars by itself!! But, the bread is yummy, too. The key to this bread is fresh rosemary. Always use fresh, if possible. Just double the amount of the dried measurement. It's crusty on the outside and moist on the inside. Can't wait to try it again!!!!

Guy Approved Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
This may be a 5 star recipe, but I didn't have any potato chips or liquid smoke (can never find that in my store), so I used all crackers. This was tasty and very moist. I threw in a couple of cloves of real garlic too because you can never have too much garlic!!!

Praline French Toast

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2010
This was very good. I would use a bit more cinnamon the next time...it needed just a bit more flavor. After marinating overnight, I turned the slices of bread over. That helped in soaking up the remaining liquid and allowed the toast to cook evenly. You msut make the praline syrup to go with this. It makes all the difference in the world.

Cajun Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
If my rating was based on smell alone, I would rate this 5 stars. But, the receipe needs some tweaking. More vegetables are necessary. The amount listed gets lost in the lasagna. Plus, you must not use boneless, skinless breast of chicken. It dries out too much. I ended up using 3 times the peppers and onions, and could have used more. Plus, as others have mentioned, make your own sauce.
