My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up in Hawaii we celebrated everything with food. Now that I have my own children I strive to continue the traditions of shrove tuesday (Portuguese malasadas), chinese new years, boys day, may day, St. Patty's Day, etc. I teach my kids about the foods, how to prepare and the meaning behind the celebrations.

Pineapple Upside Down Cupcakes
Have made this many times before finding the recipe posted. I rated it a 4 because of the changes I usually make for the topping. I melt 1 TBSP butter and 1+ TBSP brown sugar in the muffin tin for the brown sugar / butter instructions. I also don't need the dusting of powdered sugar.

Easy Biscuits
Made these because I was in a pinch. Choose this recipe because -- only 3 ingredients. Did not have milk but did have buttermilk powder so used that in place of milk. Doubled the receipe - and because I was in a rush I just used a large scoop and scooped out 24 bisquits and slightly flattened them. Took advise from others and placed right next to each other. Slightly bland but with butter and jelly they were great.

Brownie Batter + Cupcake = The SECOND BEST Cupcake. Ever
Very delish. The only change I made was baking for 15 minutes. Family and friends loved these! However not sure how you get 48. I only got 24 cupcakes with a bit of cake left over so I stuck it in a mug and microwaved for 1 1/2 minutes and made a Cup-Cake. LOL!!
