Fruit Crisp Topping Mix

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2014
I reviewed this 4 yrs ago and I wanted to update my review. Since that time I have used this recipe w/wonderful results every time! I use 2 cups of the crumble mix w/about 2 TBL of Butter for a 13'9 inch pan. I have used it when it had been in the freezer for a year and a half and it was just as yummy as when it was fresh! I do scale down the amount that I make at a time to 31 so that I don't have to much for to long! I hate to waste! But it is so darn easy to put together! Like another reviewer said a 16 serving size is perfect for a cake pan and an 8 is perfect for a pie pan! All that ease and it is delicious, too! My family's favorite is the peach and apple crisps that I make all year long because I freeze when the fruit is in season! YUM!!

This is the best CC cookie recipe! As long as you do not cook them to long. 8 min. tops! At least for my oven.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
I thought I was following the instructions exactly. I am not sure why but it just didnt "wow" me like I thought it would. My husband dutifully ate it after adding his habinaro sauce but the kids were suddenly full after only a couple of bites. It just smelled better than it tasted to us! I think I will try something else next time though. We like to really enjoy our food and this wasn't it. I want a "Wow-zer" for a chicken tortilla soup

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

I liked it ok...the family liked it a lot! Super easy! The hardest part is opening all the cans! The crock pot does the rest!

Shredded French Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
I made this once exactly like instructed! Great! The next time I used a packet of onion soup mix and beef broth because that was what I had and it was great too! I toasted some frozen garlic Texas toast in the toaster over for about 4 min turned it once and put some mozzerella cheese on top then add some of the shredded beef on top of the cheese! Took about 10 min. tops! And it is now a new family favorite! Thanks for the recipe

Layered Chicken and Black Bean Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
Maybe I did something wrong but the sour cream curdled and it was real sloppy and had to be scooped from the pan. I will try a variation using refried beans leave the sour cream for the finished product..the family ate it but asked NOT to have to eat left overs...It got 3 stars because I am not 100% sure I didn't do something wrong! I ended up feeding all the left overs to the chickens!

I love this recipe and like many others I ALWAYS get requests for the recipe. This recipe is also good w/many different types of Berries...black berries, rasberries, blueberries, boysenberries...I even tried it w/fresh peaches...I recommend that you stick w/the berries, though...

Would never had tried this recipe except for the reviews...add a few potatoes freeze the left overs you can not tell that there are canned soups involved. It's great served w/the "Cheddar biscuits I" that are also found on this sight. An easy meal all the way around!

Potato Soup V

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2006
A fantastically versital potatoe soup! With 12 of us living in our home I have to satisfy many different tastes! I crumbled bacon and shredded some cheddar and put it on the table for those that wanted it. Me and the kids loved it the way it was but my husband loves more spice. I added a teaspoon of thyme and some onion powder to his portion of the soup and set his favorite HOT sauce beside him so he could add what he wanted. EVERYONE was happy because the original is so easy to adapt to the individual. I served this soup w/a recipe I also got on this sight called CHEESE Biscuit I...Satisfying and filling and easy and YUMMY! I give 5 stars to any recipe that can please that many of us at once!

Cheese Biscuits I

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2006
I did like others before me and added a little more cheese...I also added dried chives instead of parsley to the butter for the finishing touch. With 8 kids it is impossible to find something that they ALL like but this recipe did just that! Make sure that you do not over cook them. One batch turned out to be very solid hockey pucks because we were busy eating the first batch and let them cook a little to long...

Clam Chowder II

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2006
I would never have tried this recipe except for all the good feedback...I did have to alter it a little since I wanted to cook it in the crock pot instead of the oven. I chopped up some celery along w/the onion and used bacon drippings instead of margarine. I added a pinch of thyme like I read in anothers review... I cooked it on low for about 8 hours and don't add the half and half until one hour before finshed. If you do then it will curdle. the easiest and best tasting clam chowder I have ever made!
