Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
Was looking for the original cabbage soup recipe for losing weight so was excited to try this. Followed it exactly and was so disappointed. All I could taste was tomato, bitey tomato and nothing else...no flavor at all. It was a lot of work, makes a huge amount but is really disgusting. I feel something must have been left out of this recipe. Sorry

Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
I used a 3 1/2" tall by 3" wide Wilton cookie cutter and I did get 32 cookies out of one batch. They were crispy and you could taste the ginger although mild so that if you don't like a strong molasses flavor you should enjoy these. I tried rolling them out between sheets of waxed paper after I chilled them for an hour but that didn't work too well as the paper kept wrinkling up so I went back to following the recipe and rolling them out on a floured surface which worked much better. I personally like the smaller shape. My plan was to use them as tags on Christmas packages with names and trims added with frosting but I forgot to put a tiny hole in them before baking so I'll do the same thing but put them in a small baggie and tie on with ribbon. Do leave space between them as they do puff up before going flat. Enjoy!

Fried Cabbage II

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
It was edible but not spectacular. If I made it again I'd probably use a little more vinegar. Maybe I overestimated the amount of cabbage. It's hard to measure 6 cups of wedged cabbage.

Grandpa's Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2008
These were absolutely delicious !!!! And I assume the entire family thought so as well since I made a HUGE container full at Christmas and everytime I walked into the kitchen I noticed the popcorn balls kept disappearing. Worthy to note is the fact that they were on a level too high for the grandchildren to reach on their own so, unless there's a ghost in the house, I would have to assume that my grown children and their spouses were the chief suspects!!!!!!!!!

Easy Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
I made this as a first course at Christmas prior to homemade lasagna. I want to tell you that my family is composed of those who would eat anything to the world's pickiest eaters. They DEVOURED the soup and came out in the kitchen looking for third helpings before the lasagna came out and my grown children are getting requests for the recipe. Personally, I would have added additional liquid because I like "soupy" soup but I was told when I make it again, make it the SAME! There were 12 at that meal.

Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2000
My family really enjoyed it....It was great not having to cook the noodles first, but as far as quick, you still had to brown the meat, onions, garlic, etc. and add the sauce but the PLUS was you could put it in the slow cooker and forget about it until you got home from work...to save time I prepared it the night before and stored it in the crockpot in the refrigerator until morning then plugged it in before I left for work......
