Pumpkin Soup
About this Cook
I am a 4th grade teacher in Austin, TX. I have a wonderful husband named Bill. I also have a chocolate lab named Guinness, after my husbands favorite beer.
My favorite things to cook
My husband has helped open my eyes to try eating a variety of foods including alligator, sardines, asparagus. I ended up liking all these foods and have found that I have gained a new set of confidence in trying to create different cuisines. My husband ends up being my Guinea pig but enjoys the variety none-the-less.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was young my family would make these amazing sour cream cookies for Christmas. We would spend hours decorating them with frosting, sprinkles, and bonker balls.
My cooking triumphs
After 7 tries, I finally figured out the best way to make pumpkin soup!
My cooking tragedies
I once made a rhubarb pie from scratch. Everything about it was perfect, except that my sister thought it smelled like chicken. Of course, after she announced it no one would eat it.

Fresh Rhubarb Pie
Made this for my husband and in-laws for dessert and this was a huge hit. It pairs nicely with vanilla bean ice-cream and/or whipped cream. Thanks for posting such a hit!

Chipotle Honey Roasted Peanuts
I made this for snacking at a party and everyone raved and proceeded to polish it off. So I decided to make it again, this time as a little take-home-treat for birthday party guests. I did this as a double batch two times and it worked out really well. The peanuts tasted excellent and a lot more unique than just canned peanuts. This recipe is worth it, and VERY easy!

Candied Sweet Potatoes
Ohhh my goodness! This was terrific. I made this once and found the butter and sugar were a little much. The second time I made it I followed the advice of another helpful reviewer and used only 1 stick of butter (1/2 cup) and 3/4 cups of brown sugar and it was awesome. Everyone raved and requested I make it for the next get together. Yummmm! Thank you for posting this recipe!
