About this Cook
My cooking tragedies
My husband says the biggest cooking tragedy was my first experience with cooking fresh shrimp years ago.I had never been exposed to fresh shrimp coming straight off of the shrimp boats, did not know all of the steps needed to clean and prepare. Long story short I did not peel the shrimp after they came to me with the heads taken off.I fried the shrimp and they were so beautiful, golden brown and such a pretty presentation;first bite and they sure were crunchy. My husband was absolutely beside himself lauging. It was even worse because his sister & her husband were visiting and I sure did want to impress them. To this day he still loves to remind me of the cooking tragedy when I fried my first fresh shrimp. I tell him that it was his fault for bringing a young farm girl to the ocean and expecting her to know all about seafood.

Pickled Pepper and Onion Relish
Had an abundance of peppers from garden and found this recipe--good relish. Made several batches and passed jars along to family/friends.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
I had baked a ham and had leftover ham and was looking for a good recipe to use the ham.Found this recipe and made the pot of soup and it was received well by family members( recipe went to the recipe file). Also a good potato soup to share, I have had several people ask me to make the soup for them when they are not feeling well.
