Split Pea and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2014
I went by the recipe. I only added water to the consistency that I wanted. The best I have ever made. Family loved it! And it was exactly perfect for brutally cold night. Don't forget your favorite bread!

New England Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2013
Made this last night. Exactly per recipe instruction except peas. Did not have available and I did not want to venture into wet cold just for that. Family quickly vacuumed this up next to our fireplace. Fabulous tasting soup. Thank you for sharing and can not wait to make a larger batch ;)

Debdoozie's Blue Ribbon Chili

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2013
Made this for my first time tonight. For my son who is craving home cooking which lacks at university! Our staple here in South Texas is Fiesta brand Quick Chili Mix. I like to let it sit over night to blend flavors. Went by recipe to the T. When done had a Tablespoon taste. WOW! This Chili is THE ONE! My usual for all my life is now tossed out. The Pace picante is definitely a great addition! His Thanksgiving holiday at home will start with a nice hot bowl of Chili! Thank You!

Cindy's Awesome Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2013
Wow is all I can say! My store did not have Leek dry soup so I used Knorr Spring Vegetable recipe mix instead. Went exactly per instructions, plus the two (0.9 oz each) packages soup mix. slow simmered to a thicker consistency. My wife said it was a richer tasting chowder. And it surely tasted upscale. Keep this and toss out the rest. I have found THE ONE! Thank You! P.S. Yukon gold potatoes definitely used.

Loved the soup on this unseasonably cold & windy day. I used Kiobassa brand Polish sausage and it hit the spot! No leftovers here!

It was the hit for the family! I went exactly by recipe and it was very good. Jalapeno I put in was not hot,but sweet. It's a hit or miss with those at store. No need to spend that money at restaurants when you can do it at home!

Sister Schubert's® Meatball Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2012
Recipe/reviews never mentioned pre-baked rolls. I believed bread would bake with all the ingredients. We dont have Schuberts in our neck of the woods. Only veggies, meatballs, sauce and cheese tasted fine. Will do again but with premade rolls. The potential is there.

Hawaiian-Style Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2012
Very good recipe. 2nd's for everyone! I split the hamburger by half. The other half I used chili meat. Browned it with garlic powder. In place of chili powder I used "Fiesta" brand chili mix powder. It's made in San Antonio,Texas. 2 onions instead of 6 listed. For the slight zing with the sweetness I gave a heavy dash of "Tabasco"brand Habanero sauce. Thank you for this wonderful recipe.

Used other reviews for option's. Sauteed onions with the half package taco seasoning while browning beef. Used one teaspoon chili powder. After layering and prior too putting final cheese, sprinkled a very lite amount of chili powder, just to add a little more pizzaz. Prepared rest of recipe as written. WOW family loved it. A keeper and will make it during winter. Thanks for this recipe.

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
"By George" we have a winner! Easily made, easy to tinker with, guaranteed no leftovers.I used 2 1/2 lbs.chili meat instead of ground beef. I did not add 46oz tomato juice. I sub'd water for juice. 1 teaspoon beef base instead of salt. 2 teaspoons cumin. Rinsed/drained both beans together and added last 20 minutes of cook cycle ( they stay whole and will not go mushy on you ). The rest of the ingredients are the same. This will be the one for all time in my family. Remember everybody has different taste, so simmer slowly and take your time adding spices to get your taste buds to smiling! Especially with the cumin!

My family liked it, but not I.For me there was the cream cheese that got in the way.To much. Tasted funny. I will try one more time but only will use a 1/4 of it instead of the whole thing.

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
Wow! My wife is always trying to find the best tortilla soup in restaurants. Now she has found it!I did use some previously written review recommendation's. Boiled chicken/garlic first.Let it cool a bit while preparing the same boiled water with the seasoning. Shredded chicken and added 1/2 can "Bush's best" Black beans. I used 1 large red onion for color. The salsa I used was named "Green Mountain Gringo" All natural,no preservatives, medium. This salsa tastes as fresh as fresh can be.I will use it with the recipe as long as I can get it. The kids gobbled it all up too! Great for cold night's. Try this and you will not need to look any further for a recipe/restaurant!

I made this this evening. My wife and kids say it is the best! I agree! Due to lack of ingredients I used a box of stuffing w/sage.I added one bullion cube /pork flavor to water. After stuffing chops,I sprinkled a rosemary/garlic spice on both side's and browned. Placed in baking pan,put remaining stuffing on top of each chop.Next I poured mushroom soup in pan.covered and baked till done.Uncovered and baked additional 10 mins. And watch the family devour it!

Rasta Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
Magnificent! I had one jar of Ragu Garden combination sauce only. So I substituted with one 15oz. can Diced stewed tomatoes.Blended both well in a large bowl. No other changes. The stewed tomatoes I believe, added body and texture. Not just a saucy look.My wife and kids loved it so much we took a picture of it.So much good flavor,so little time to prepare. Thanks!
